another sunny day
Oh I have a funny story to tell. In case you didn't know we have one nosey neighbor. She lives behind us. 2 sides of our fence is 6ft and the third side is 4ft, which hopefully since the back part of our fence blew down on Saturday, the landlord will just replace the fence. Shawn fixed it somewhat to keep the dogs in, but it all just needs to be replaced. Anyway, this lady is always starring out her window, turning on her back porch light, or just staring out her back door. Most people that have been to our house has witnessed her spying ways and trying to see what we are up too. For example this last Friday, Shawn was out side grilling the hamburgers and hot dogs and she kept doing it. If our back light (motion censored) goes on she is up. There have been times I have gotten up at 3 or 4 am to let the dogs out and she is looking through her window.
Anyway I went to check out prices at the tanning place here in town the other day and pay rent for march. Which is next door to the tanning place. Well the lady behind the counter at the tanning salon goes I know you, I just kind of looked at her, and she says, "You live right behind me." I said I do? and She said, "Yea weren't y'all having a party this last Friday?" I said yes, we had a small get together at my house then she says, "Well it would have been nice if you invited me." My reaction in my head? Excuse me lady, I don't even know your name. The day I went to take out the trash and you were starring at me, when I started to walk towards your back fence to introduce myself, you took off running into your house only to shut your backdoor and pull down your blinds.
Anyway, I just said that it was mainly family and close friends and left.
I went next door and paid rent, not only to find out that my landlord owns the tanning place (which got me a discount),but that this neighbor comes in every day to tell her something. Nice to know that Shawn and Is' life and our dogs are so interesting. So this morning Shawn and I are outside playing with the dogs and she comes outside and stands at her back gate. Shawn goes into the garage to get a Frisbee and she says is he going to poop scoop because I have poop outside my fence that needs to be picked up. I said no he is getting a Frisbee. She said well the next time you poop scoop you need to come over here. I am guessing, Friday she saw two neighborhood boys poop scooping our backyard. They come every two to three weeks. I asked, "Did our dogs do it?" and her reply was, "No but I need it gone, then she turned and walked into her house."
Shawn refuses to, he said it would be different if she wasn't so rude and nosey. I am not sure if a 6 ft fence on that side will help though because of the way our porches are angled. Anyway, not much we can do though, well besides move, but I don't really feel threatened by her.
There have been a lot of suicides here lately and they are all people above 50. Ever since that one right after Christmas there has been one or two every two weeks. This one lady did it at work. Shawn had the chance to go to her autopsy today, but since he will be in court all day tomorrow, they told him he will get the next one, so he will at least have one day off this week, plus I am thinking they didn't want to pay that much over time.
Anyway, Shawn is fixing Chicken Fajitas for lunch and they are almost done so I better get off here.

I know I know
For some reason I just wasn't liking the other one. This morning I came across this free web set, loved it and thought I would implement it to a blog template. I was going to wait, but I needed something to do in between breaks of studying this morning. I would try and memorize information and soon as I got it I would add text to a button. Kind of like a reward system. lol
It worked though, because I feel alot more prepared than I did earlier.
I also added links to websites that Shawn and I visit. Other than, that there isnt much to blog about. This afternoon I am going to watch a friend's daughter play softball against Dalhart. It is so pretty outside! When Shawn was home for lunch we went out and played with the dogs for a little bit. Copper is bigger than Minnie now. I need to get some pictures. He has thinned out, I think it is because he has gotten longer.
Anyway, Have a great day!
**** I just added a shoutout box on the side. You don't have to have a website to post a message on there.

about 9 days to go?
Lets see where to begin....
Friday Feb, 16th the Valero Plant went up in flames. I went in to work at 5 that day. It was one crazy and emotional day at work. I thought I was going to get sick when I started seeing several other towns' ambulances going up and down the street with lights and sirens. Then there was the media. I know they have to get their stories, but they don't have to be so rude. They see a person upset in the parking lot, she had just found out it was her brother in law was one that was sent to Lubbock and what do they do? They run up to her and try to get her story and they badger her for a name. Then when they started releasing people from the community center, a lot of them came in to buy stuff and the media was just standing outside in the parking lot. Ugh, the whole media coverage thing on this has just made me sick! I think they finally started letting them get there cars on Sunday. I think they lost 4 cars due to the acid and chemicals from the fire. Some of the workers are still being bussed into work.
That weekend I also found out some other stuff, and just watching it all unfold and play out over the weekend was really hard for me. I spent the weekend trying to figure out why it was hard for me to take. But it made me love my mom even more and gave me a greater appreciation for her. Not, that I didn't already, the situation that was unfolded just really opened my eyes.
Last week was filled with school and work. Although Shawn and I did have a date night. We went and saw:
From the previews I didn't know how good it was actually going to be. But it was a great movie!!!!
Shawn got the chance to use his grill, Friday night. We had a cookout with friends and family. Not everyone that originally said they were going to come, was able to make it. But the house was still full and I wouldn't have had it any other way. I also got to meet my brother's girlfriend. She is very nice. We played a very fun game called Boxers or Briefs.
And guess who won? Yup, that's right me! :)
The rest of the weekend was spent working, relaxing, homework, and doing laundry.
This week my plan is to study for a couple of tests, stay on top of laundry, and continue counting down the days until I am on plane. Can you believe on March 23rd, Shawn will have been here for a year. He won't be a "rookie" for much longer. They are hiring like 4 or 5 out of this next academy. Which should relieve most of the them from getting called out so much. Anyway, I need get ready to make the hour and 20 minute drive to school.
Hope everyone has a great week!
oh yea, the music player on the side is just a whole mix of songs ( Disney, Christian, Rock, Country, Pop). If you click on the volume thing it will allow you to turn it up or just mute it.Sunday, February 18, 2007

Dreaming of Summer.... :)
I am so tired of the snow. I really don't remember a winter that had this much snow. I would rather it snow several inches at one time and be done with it. I am ready for the spring/summery weather! At least spring break isn't too far away!
When I changed my template/background I also fixed the broken links in the side bar. I figured out why it was giving an error that the web page could not be found. When ever blogger updated I guess they updated it to where the links would automatically put in the "/" so to fix it just edit your links and remove the "/" from the end of the web address. At least that is what fixed my links.
While fixing my links, I went and visited daily devotion. I try to visit the site daily. Most of the time I go while my email is sending and receiving. Anyway, this was my first time going since last Wednesday. I read today's along with last Thursday's. Both were really great, but I loved Last Thursday's post. So if you get a chance you should check it out.
Well the lasagna, that Shawn and I are having for lunch just beeped, so I better go get it out of the oven.

Shawn's gift...and some more....
Shawn got off at six, changed clothes, and then came up to work to bug me about opening the big box. Telling me, "I already know what it is and I will clean out the garage and use it." He was making me laugh. But I kept telling him no. Then I got to thinking that I had asked him to clean up the backyard. You see, Copper and Minnie love to run off the porch and knock over our big blue trash can. Well they once again managed to knock it over but this time they got in to the trash and we had trash all over our backyard. So I told Shawn that if he could get the trash in the backyard cleaned up tonight that I would let him open it. I got home at eight, and not only was the trash picked up, but he pooped scooped too. So I was nice and let him open his gift. He had it put together in less than 45 minutes. He was soo excited and shocked when he saw it. I have heard thank you several times since then. After he got it put together he took pics...
Some stats about the grill in case some of you would like to know...
Triple burner gas grill
Stainless burner
Porcelain cast-iron cooking surface
32 burger count
Porcelain heat plate
Cast brass side burner
Ignitor: Electronic
BTU:42,000
Side Burner: Yes
Fuel: Liquid Propane
I am happy that he is happy.
Today, I was looking at Skymall.com and I came across this:
Doggy Dare Strap System
If the garbage-can lid stays on, the garbage stays inside... no need for daily clean-up of spilled trash!
Discourage dogs, cats or raccoons from knocking over your trash can in an attempt to get at the trash "goodies" ! Doggy Dare elastic strap system fits all standard garbage cans to keep the lid on even if a 4-legged pest or strong wind knocks the can over! You won't be sweeping-up yesterday's trash every morning! Buckle top unbuckles easily with one hand when necessary.
It is 14.99 but I wonder if we could make something like that, so Copper and Minnie will stay out of the trash. Minnie never really got in the trash, but I think it is more of game to them. We have even put a cinder block at the bottom, but they just run and jump off the porch and manage to knock it down. If you have any suggestions just let me know...

Migraines
I guess Shawn got the garage cleaned out today. He is in Atown for a guys night out. He wasn't going to go with me sick, but I told him to go ahead and go. Lacy and I were suppose to go to dinner tonight, but that obviously got cancelled. Depending on how I am feeling in the morning, she will be coming up for the day tomorrow.
Thursday night after Shawn gets off, we are hitting the road. First stop will be my parents to drop off the dogs, then on the road to Shawn's sister Nyki's house/ town. While we are there we get to see one of Shawn's uncles and his mom. Shawn and I are pretty excited about getting out of town for a while! I can't wait until we go to Fl, almost less than a month away!
I was going to post about Shawn's newest household type item but I was told that he would post about it. I thought maybe while I was sleeping and puking the day away that he had posted all about it but he hasn't. But I am sure he will. If he hasn't posted by Thursday, I will tell y'all. I think a few people know, but I don't think I have ever seen him get this so excited and hyped up over a gift.
Yea!! For the Colts winning the Superbowl! I got to see the last few minutes of the game, I didn't know if I would or not.
I have to go let the dogs out and then I am calling it a night.
