3 years...WOW...

I just realized today, that I have been blogging for 3 years now. It really doesn't seem that long ago...

We had a great Christmas! We spent Christmas eve, and most of Christmas at my parents house. Shawn's Grandma Mary came over and had Christmas Dinner with us. Then we headed to Shawn's Nanny and Pawpaw's house and drove around looking at Christmas lights and when we got back we played Spades. We were exhausted by the time we got home.

Friday night some friends of ours that live in Houston came up to see our house. They brought two huge 24" pizzas (there were tons of leftovers!). It was nice to see them in person and catch up! Oh and Meghan was staying the night on Friday, and ended up staying on Saturday too. Shawn got up early yesterday and took her home so she could get to work on time.

We aren't really doing anything exciting to bring in the New Year tonight. Shawn has to work tomorrow so he will probably be in bed by 9:30 and if I continue to feel the way I do I will probably go to bed early too. I woke up yesterday with a scratchy throat, stuffy nose, and a horrible cough. I was in bed by 8:30 last night. At 8, I took one Tylenol Cold & Sinus. Which I am glad I only took one, because with two I am usually out the whole next day too, and this morning I got a call asking if I could watch B because they weren't able to get a hold of their other sitter. Speaking of her, she has awaken, and I better go get her before she gets really upset!

Happy New Year!

Fun weekend!

Our weekend fun, started Friday night, when Shawn's grandparents, aunt, uncle, and cousins came up to our house for a night of games. We ate, exchanged gifts, and played loaded questions. We originally had three games planned, but since Shawn had to work on Saturday we only played the first one.

Saturday, Shawn worked and I ended up watching 5 kids. I got a phone call Friday afternoon from one of the mom's whose boys I watch occasionally and she was wondering if I could watch her manager's children on Saturday. I told her sure just have him call me, thinking he would call me sometime Friday, seeing how he needed me for Saturday. He called Saturday at 10:30 asking me if I could watch them from 11 to 5. I told him that I could. So he drops them off and off to work he goes. This is not the first time I have watched kids with out the parents taking the time to ask me a few questions to find out what kind of a person I am. It drives me crazy, that people just drop their children off with out wanting to know one thing about me or even inspecting my house to make sure it is safe for their kids. Don't get me wrong, I think I am a wonderful sitter and I know my house is a safe environment for children, it just bugs me that they just think because of Shawn's career (sometimes) that I am a safe person to leave their children with. I said sometimes because one lady who I sit for had no idea about Shawn's career. In fact she pretty much did the same thing as this guy, called me asked if I could watch her sons for a couple of days, I arranged a time for her to come by that afternoon so I could meet them and so she could see where I lived and stuff, she never showed up for it, but then showed up knocking at my door the next morning, dropped them off, and left. At least the dad yesterday, knew a little bit about me before hand. Although he seemed a little frustrated when I asked him to fill out a form I have for all of the kids I keep. All I want to know is emergency numbers and if they have any kind of allergies.
LOL sorry didn't mean to go off about that, anyway I ended up having lots of fun with his kids. We did lots of crafts. They made Christmas cards with card stock paper, foam Stickers, and markers. The girls (there were 2 girls and 3 boys) made necklaces and the boys made snowman and penguins. We ended our day with watching Veggie Tales: The Toy that Saved Christmas and Firehouse Dog.

Tonight, when Shawn got home from work I told him we were going on a date (sort of). He thought I was crazy, because I was making us hot chocolate and warming up the left over mini tacos and taqitos (sp?)from Friday night. At first he thought we were going out to eat, so he didn't know why I was warming that stuff up. Then I told him we were going to drive around and look at all the pretty Christmas lights around town, plus deliver the last of our cookie tins. I thought it was lots of fun for a spur of the moment deal. This is a picture we took tonight just before we left. The last picture is for our nephew A.C. (Britt's oldest). He was telling Grandma that he hasn't ever seen snow or touched it. So, Uncle Shawnee took a picture of the snow. Sorry we can't send you some to touch and feel, but hopefully one day, when you move to Texas you will be able to play in it. And we can throw snowballs at Uncle Shawnee and build a snow man, but until then maybe you could talk your mom or Grandma into getting you some of this stuff.

Sorry your uncle and Minnie just had to walk and run through it.
Have a Very Merry Christmas!

Great Story

The girl "M" that I watch during the day, loves to listen to His Kids Radio while she plays. This week for some reason it has been down, but you are still able to listen to different radio story (episodes). It is suppose to be up and working by this afternoon. One of her favorites to listen to is Paws & Tales. I discovered you can listen to all past episodes here. This morning we listened to this one again... and I thought it was a really good one. It is called True Riches and ... "M" loves Goose (I think that is her name) which is a character in the story. I think the story is close to 30 minutes long. Another great one is The Perfect Christmas Gift.

A few pictures

I finally got pictures taken of our tree, a few ornaments, and the crazy garland lamp end table. First like most of the time, pictures do not do our tree justice. I love our tree!!! I love the brightness of the ornaments. This year we found garland that matches the colors of theornaments. I don't think the camera really captures it. Anyway here are a few pics....

Our Tree

These are the 5 main different ornament types besides the plain same type colored ornament balls (not sure if that is what they are called???) Each ornament set has the same colors...I hope thismakes since....

Here is a close up of the Nativity Set- (It's my mom's)
The end table that I have a love/hate relationship with LOL! I don't think the picture really shows you the red and green garland....

Our regular ol looking stockings and 3 of my fav. ornament's Shawn and I recieved our first Christmas.

Maybe tomorrow I can get some pics of the kitchen and tv area.....

Marvelous Innocence

I got this in an email and I thought I would share it! Hope it brightens your Monday!

It was the day AFTER Christmas at a church in San Francisco. The pastor of the church was looking at the manger scene, when he noticed that the baby Jesus figure was missing from the cradle. He immediately turned and went outside and saw a little boy with a red wagon walking down the street. And in the wagon, was the figure of the infant Jesus.

So he walked up to the boy and said, "Son, where did you get that little baby Jesus that's in your wagon?"

The little boy replied, "I got him from the church."

And why did you take him?" asked the pastor.

The little boy replied, "Well, about a week before Christmas, I prayed and I told Jesus if he would bring me a red wagon for Christmas, I would give him a ride in it!"

Busy Busy Weekend!

This weekend has been a very busy one! Friday night (my mom's birthday (**click to see what we got her), Shawn and I took her out to eat and to go see Alvin and The Chipmunks Movie. It was an awesome movie! My dad is working out of town right now, and we didn't want her to spend her birthday alone. We stayed the night, and then Saturday morning, my mom and I began baking and making all kinds of goodies (white chocolate dipped pretzels, cookies and cream, cherry mash, chocolate dipped peanut butter crackers, etc...). We did that from 10:00 am to about 5 pm. That is when my dad arrived home for just the night. We ate supper and then headed home. I think I was in bed and asleep by 10:00 which is really early for me.

Today, Shawn and I wrapped presents, finished Christmas Cards, baked cookies, and packaged boxes that have to be mailed in the morning. I hope they make it in time!!! We baked 120 chocolate chip cookies, 64 Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chunk cookies, and 64 Macadamia nut cookies. It was a lot of cookies, but most of them are now in tins. The cookie/goodie tins is something we started last year and was a big hit with the Shawn's Shift and others at the Police Department. The people on his shift get a medium size tin and then others get a small one.

I do have my mom's camera, so I plan on taking pictures of our tree, the crazy end table, my one Santa Chef (mom, Shawn really wanted one for his birthday, he was just too embarrassed to admit it :) !!) , and other Christmas decorations. If you are blog friend (we haven't met) and would like a Christmas Card..email me with your address! Well that is about it folks! I am worn out and off to bed I go!!

I thought I would be done with school today, but my final that was scheduled for 6:00 tonight was cancelled because of the weather. Which is okay with me, because I really didn't want to drive on ice tonight, especially with the way my cell phone has been acting up.
I was hoping to get all of the gifts we are mailing out in the mail by Friday, but 2 things I have ordered have yet to come in :(. Hopefully they will soon!! Other than that, there isn't much to blog about. Not that this stuff is even good stuff to blog about lol! Have a great week!

Ha

So what happens when your house is a wreck and unorganized and you are suppose to be studying for a test? Well lets see first it was oh I will put a few ornaments on the tree (most of them are on there now). Then it was lets clear off the top of this for the Nativity Set. Third, I looked at this cheap end table we have in our front room and for the billionth time said that I hated the lamp shade (really I hate the whole thing, eventually we will get a new end table). Then I saw this left over red and green garland so I wrapped the lamp shade in it. I wasn't sure if I liked it, so I called a few people. Had a friend stop by and look at it. She thought it was cool looking. I still don't know if I like it or not. We will see if Shawn notices it :). Needless to say I haven't even started studying yet.

I thought by putting up some stuff it would take away some the chaos, but I think I just added to it, because inside the bins are boxes and those boxes came out, while I was looking for other stuff. And now I really need to study for a quiz I have tomorrow and for my final on Friday. I wish my camera would work. I don't know what the problem is, we have changed the batteries and the little light flashes green but it won't actually turn on.

Ugh- Random rambilings

You wanted an update.... and finals start on Friday.......hahahaha, but the good news is that on Monday I have my last 3. So by next Tuesday I should be back to my normal usually happy self. :)

I got a hair cut and its to my chin. (It was like 1 to 2 inches past my shoulders) If I had a working camera, I would take a picture, but I don't. I didn't see it until it was finished so I was a little scared, but I LOVE IT!!!! We did our Christmas shopping this weekend and got all but 3 people bought for. Do you ever wonder if the people you buy for will be disappointed? I do, but Shawn says if he hears of one complaint then they get nothing next year. lol My house is a wreck and I hate it!! It is mainly decorations waiting to go up. The tree is up and the lights are on it, but that is about it. I have stuff that needs to be wrapped in my living room, the kitchen has boxes and storage bins every where. My kitchen table is full of my stuff I am making Christmas cards with. I am in the process of putting up all of my fall stuff and taking out my Christmas stuff. It is driving me nuts, but once everything is out and up it will look great!!!! I saw a Santa Chef I want at the Holiday Shop except it is 160.00, but it is oh so cute.

Have a good week..... by the way where are the links of the elves.....

New fav...elfed...& music player

I think I have a new favorite movie to add to my list.... and it is up there with Mary Poppins. In case you didn't know Mary Poppins is my number one favorite movie! Shawn and I didn't decorate for Christmas, instead he surprised me and took me out to go see Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium. It was awesome!!!! There was no bad language and no adult humor! I absolutely loved it!!! I didn't think it was predictable like most kid movies are. It is definitely one for the family. A few weeks ago we went and saw the Bee Movie. It was funny, but I just get tired of going to "kid" movies and then there is adult humor. They may not think that kids pick up on it, but they do! I don't know why I let it drive me crazy. Some movies would have been just as good with out it. I remember when Shawn and I went and saw Cat in the Hat in the theater. I couldn't believe the whole seen with the garden hoe. I know my jaw dropped and I didn't think it was all that funny. Anyway go see Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium!!!!

Shawn and I got elfed! Check out the link to see us! So what do you look like elfed??? Leave your link in a comment! :)

To answer the question I got on the music player I am using (I replied and emailed these steps to you, but I got it back)....

  1. Go to finetune register/sign up
  2. Then go to stations (it is located at the top)
  3. Scroll down towards the bottom and there are several Christmas Music stations
  4. Click on the one you want....
  5. It should list the tracks that are on there... on the right side there should be an option embed play list - click on that
  6. Copy the first code it gives you
  7. Log in to your blogger account (in a new window/tab)
  8. Layout... add a page element..... html/java script
  9. Paste the code into that

If you want it to automatically start playing on your page do the following

the first time you see pinst= it should have a long list of numbers/letters after it and then ends in "(quotation marks) before the quotation marks paste in the following... &autoplay=true only do it to the first one. The pinst will be on there twice...

It will look something like this:

pinst=A366E84C02284C758842225225EC1FF8&autoplay=true" flashvars="pinst=A366E84C02284C758842225225EC1FF8"

You are just pasting in &autoplay=true so don't delete any of the other code!!! You can change the height and width to fit in to your side bar, or expand your side bar by going and editing your html.

You can also create your own play list you have to have 45 songs before it will let you play them and you can't have more than 3 from an artist on your play list. As far as I know though you can have several different play lists. I think the "stations" do have more than 3 songs from an artist but they are created by the site. Shawn and I downloaded the desktopplayer . He has his play lists and I have mine, when we are cleaning house, we are usually listening to one of our several play lists. I have used projectplaylist in the past, but they had so many broken links and I am not sure how many of the links were legal. Anyway, I hope this helps!!

Broken Camera = no pictures :(

But even with a broken camera, we had a great Thanksgiving!! My pie turned out great even though I had a little mishap with the topping. We were at my parents most of the day. We watched football, ate, played taboo, looked through the ads in the paper, and visted. On the way home we made a spur of the moment decision to stop by his cousin's house. They had their second child back in July and the last time I saw her she was two weeks old. Needless to say she has grown. I think we left there around 11:30.... we were planning on stopping by visiting for an hour or so... but that didn't happen. Either way it was an awesome time. Her parents were in town from Florida and it was nice to visit and catch up with them.

You know how they say you learn something new everyday.... well Wednesday night I learned that after what almost 5 or 6 years (3 of them being married) that my husband does not like pumpkin pie..... I guess I never noticed that he didn't eat it. At first I thought he was joking. He isn't a big dessert eater, but he will eat bread type stuff..he is normally the one to finish off the rolls. So today, I made an apple pie (one of his favorites). He should be surprised when he comes home from work.

I woke up this morning to snow on the ground. I was excited to see it! I can't wait until Shawn gets home from work so we can pull out all of the Christmas stuff and start decorating. When he came home at lunch he said he liked seeing the snow, but he hates working out in. At lunch (1:30) there had already been 4 roll overs. Just because people don't know how to drive or think that it isn't slick out side. As far as work goes he hates this time of year, this is when the suicides and suicide attempts increase. I couldn't believe how many there were last year and it didn't slow down until March/ April. I have been hoping that their won't be so many this year, but I guess the night shift last night had one. Okay I am stopping there, I didn't want this post to become a sad horrible post....

I hope all of you had great Thanksgiving! Happy Decorating for Christmas!! Maybe I can borrow my mom's camera and get some pictures of our decorations.

Hmmm...

I'm not sure if I like the header... I might end up doing something different. I am done for now though. I can't believe Thanksgiving is Thursday! I am going to attempt to make a
Caramel Chocolate Pumpkin Pie. (If the link doesn't work then most likely their site is down) We will see how it turns out!

This weekend we celebrated Shawn's birthday! Saturday, my parents, sister, and brother came up. My mom made enchiladas and we spent the evening playing games. Later on that evening we got a phone call from his sister saying she was on her way to the hospital to have Kailey. Kailey was born on Shawn's birthday (Sunday). Hopefully they will both get to go home before Thanksgiving.

I thought that I was going to have 6 kids tomorrow and Friday, but it looks like tomorrow I will have 5 starting at 4:30 and then Friday I will either have 4,2, or 1. The two boys that I watch might stay the night with their Grandma Thursday night. Which I am kind of hoping for! If not they will be here around 3am. (Their mom is a department manager for Walmart) I am not sure if M will be back from her dad's house or not. So we will see....
Today it was just me and B. She took an hour nap this morning from around 9:30 to 10:30. When she woke up I picked her up and she had a blow out. It was sooo gross. I was gagging and she was laughing. It was awful. But I survived :) This afternoon we played and played. She wasn't too happy when Shawn came home for lunch. She wanted him to pick her up, but every time he picks her up she starts messing with his radio and other stuff. So today he just didn't pick her up and she was MAD! After he left, she went back to her happy self. Right now she is sleeping. Today her and I figured out that she doesn't like Gerber Vegetable Beef. After, the second time of her spewing it back out on me, I said forget it, and we went with option number two which was chicken and rice. She ate that stuff right up.

Shawn and I plan to decorate for Christmas, Friday evening when he gets off work. I can't wait!! We haven't done any Christmas shopping yet, but we have an idea of what we are getting everyone.

Hope you all are having a great week! We are suppose to get a cold front tomorrow.... I am excited! I wasn't thrilled with the idea of Thanksgiving in the 80's.

I came across this a couple weeks ago. M who is 3 (turns 4 Dec 4th) loves to listen to it while she plays. They also have a blog.

I'm back..... not sure how many of you are planning on shopping on Friday, but I heard about this website on PWO. Good luck to everyone shopping on Friday!

Happy Monday!

Hope everyone has a great week! I am still working on the header and the buttons...

Changes

It might be a little crazy today and possibly over the weekend! I am changing the template around..for the holidays :)

What's for dinner?

Tuesday evening we went to the grocery store and they were having a sale on chicken. So we stocked up. Anyway Shawn loves this stuff and I have had a few people ask me what is in it so here is the recipe that I use... (there are several different ones out there)

Slow-Cooker Salsa Chicken

Ingredients
4 Boneless, skinless Chicken Breasts
1 cup salsa
1 package taco seasoning
1 can cream of mushroom soup (condensed)
1/2 cup of sour cream

Directions
Add chicken to slow cooker.
Sprinkle taco seasoning over chicken.
Pour salsa and soup over chicken.
Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.
Remove from heat and stir in sour cream.

I use the reduced sodium taco seasoning, the reduced fat cream of mushroom soup, and reduced fat sour cream. We have eaten it served with rice, egg noodles, and rolled up in tortillas with shredded cheese. Shawn also likes the extra sauce with tortilla chips. Tonight we are having it with tortillas.

Questions/Answers

I just realized tonight, that this was still in draft mode! I originally typed this up November 2nd. Sorry!!! But the good thing is Shawn is able to answer his question. I did go back through and the stuff that is bolded and italicized was just added :), I can't believe Thanksgiving is a week away!!

Are you tired from staying up?

Nope, I wasn't tired, but I did go to bed early the next night.

Have you lived in the TX panhandle all your life?

Yes, I have. I have not always lived in this town though. We have only lived here for a year and a 1/2 (maybe more/less). It will be two years, May 1st. Shawn on the other hand was born in Texas, ended up in Florida and the we met yadayada.... and he moved back to Texas to marry me! :) (That was the shortest version I could think of)

If there was one thing you could wish for and know without a doubt it would come true what would it be? (I would also like to hear Shawn's answer)

My wish would be that we have healthy children and that Shawn and I are great parents. We may be waiting to extend our family, but I can't wait until the day we announce to the world that we are expecting and that I will be a mom! But my wish would be to know that the children we have are healthy. Sometimes the stuff I learn in class scares the crap out of me, especially the statistics, and no one wants to ever hear the words that something might be "wrong" with their child.

Shawn's answer----he will answer it later.... lol (sorry)
His answer: I would wish for a new car and to own a really nice house for our family.

What is the one thing that you would wish your Mother in Law would have taught your husband prior to giving him to you?

To dust and then vacuum! He knows this now, but it use to drive me nuts! This now makes me laugh! Today I had a conversation with his mom and found out that because of their vacuum at the time that she vacuumed and then dusted! lol

I thought the new blogger was suppose to be better than the old one? I had a post all typed up over my fun filled Saturday, but then I got an error when I tried to post, and now my post is no where to be found! And since I didn't get much studying done yesterday.... I have to get it done today!

Rant Session

  • I can't stand irresponsible people.
  • I dislike Professors that miss more than an average student does! Hello I am paying for an education here! My Professor that is battling cancer has only missed 1 day this semester compared to your 6!
  • You could send an email out like you make students do, notifying us that you are not going to be there!!! So I don't waste a half a tank of gas driving here for nothing! Not everyone lives with in 15 miles of the school!
  • My car is messed up again! It died on me, while I was on my second attempt to meet Shawn for lunch in the middle of the street. It was embarrassing, but it worked out because the towing company towed it back to the house for free. Who knows what it is this time, for all I care it can sit in the drive way.
  • Gas is going up once again.... which will be over 140.00 a week in gas costs to go to school and back.... have to cut back on trips to atown!
  • I can't stand it when people loudly talk in another language right beside you in the HELC/Library. Hello there is a sign there that says quiet please! Wouldn't mind if they would just whisper.
  • I HATE it when I have a test in all my classes on Monday.
  • I hate group projects where you can't pick your group and you get stuck with irresponsible and lazy people.
  • I hate doing article reviews!
  • I can't stand the mumbo jumbo from others on where we are going to spend the holidays. I love the holidays but that makes me dread them. Besides that WE have already decided.
  • I hate nosey computer monitors. Do you really like reading what I am typing.... thank you for moving on....

Okay that isn't all but that is the most of it right now! On a positive note, I have the sweetest and most wonderful husband ever! I love it when we are able to ride together for school/work. That was the highlight of my day. Now I am trying to figure out if I should do this group article review on my own, since it is due at 4 and not one of the 5 other group members has emailed me their portion or just say screw it like they apparently did. I know most likely I will go ahead and do it because Hello it is my grade! But I am going to type my name in the header and not theirs. I can't wait until 5:15 because then for the most part my day will be over.

I hope someone out there is having a fantastic day and not a horrible day like I am!

Life

Just got off the phone confirming that we are both on our way to Subway to meet for lunch. So I head that way and on the way I see him speed by with lights on... so I guess our lunch date is off? Not the first and most likely not the last!

Yeah right!

I opened up this email because I saw James and I thought it was from a person that Shawn and I know. I should have known from the subject "URGENT! ATTENTION!" that it wasn't him and a spam email. When I opened it I immediately realized it wasn't but I read it anyways trying to figure out why a chief would be emailing us. After I read it, I called Shawn laughing and read him this guy's "sob story." I told Shawn that all I could think of afterwards was Identity Theft! The sad part about of all of this, is someone will actually fall for this scam artists trick.

So here is what I call the sob story!

Registered!

So I am registered for the Spring Semester! I stayed up to register at midnight last night, but the system messed up and was messed up through out the day. I got worried and sent an email to my advisor because it was showing two of my classes completely full, but she told me not to worry because the system was still messing up. Just now, I thought I would try it again and what do ya know, it let me register and my classes weren't full! So after this semester and one summer class it is on to methods next fall and Spring of 09 student teaching and graduation!! So basically 3 semesters to go...

Next semester I will be taking 4 classes ~ 12 hrs
TTH 10:00-11:50
TTH 1:00-2:50
W 1:00-3:40
W 4:00-6:40

I am glad to be back on Tuesday/Thursday. I am not a big fan of class on Mondays! Now I need to go wake up Snoaring Shawn and tell him to move from the couch to bed, actually we need to switch vehicle around before that happens because I don't want to do it at 5:30 in the morning. lol I wish we had a wider drive way. Length wise we can fit all 3 vehicles in the drive way. It was just easier when we could park his patrol car in the street!

Have a great Friday!!

Way too cute!!

Go check out the Quads halloween costume.... it made me smile this morning!
This morning I was in a little bit of a rush. I woke up late and then I realized my keys were locked in my car. Monday, I put them in the glove box, since Shawn was driving and completley forgot about them until this morning. Anyway, I had to wait until Shawn was done working school zones before he could come by and get them out for me. So I get to school only to find a note on the door that my teacher is out sick. All that rushing around and stressing for nothing...lol. I guess it does give me more time to study for my test today. I think every semester I have a test on/or the day after Halloween and also on the Monday after Thanksgiving. This semester the Monday after Thanksgiving, I have a presentation to give in one class and a test in the rest. Fun fun... NOT!
Hope you have a great halloween!

WOW it's long one!

So I didn't mean to offend anyone, but I guess I have officially made a lot of bloggers angry. Am I sorry? Not really. As most of you know, I change our background on our blog quite regularly. I don't make the graphics. I do use the graphics to make the header and buttons on the side bar. But I ALWAYS give CREDIT to the person that did make them. The one that is currently on my site I got here. It is a digi scrap booking site, but she allows you to use her free kits and other products on personal blogs, but there are terms that go along with using them!

Towards the end of last week, I came across the blog Shabby Tulips. I noticed that she was making blog templates for others using Shabby Princess free kits. Which is really nice and all but there was no credit that I saw given to Shabby Princess. So I left the following comment:

"I know that you are using the free kits from Shabby Princess (www.shabbyprincess.com) and I think that it is nice what you are doing, but do you realize that you are violating the terms along with every person using these templates. You need to give credit where credit is due. This is from her site "IF you have a PERSONAL blog or website that you would like to embellish using our free downloads...that is permitted AS LONG AS there is NOTHING commercial about the site (no affiliate links...no links to your eBay store...no advertising...NOTHING). This is strictly for those who have a family website or blog that is used to keep in touch with family and friends. Please note that credit and copyright must be given to www.shabbyprincess.com on any page where our graphics are being used." I just thought I would let you know. I have used her free kits on my site and am currently using a kit on my site for my template. I just think it is important to give credit where credit is due!"

I was not trying to be rude when I left the comment, I just thought that she should know. Well then I get this

"Hey guys, thanks for the input about the Shabby Princess credit! I actually do give credit to them. I have a post about it, you just must not have seen it. I think it's my first or second post. I should probably make another post since people apparently aren't noticing the first one. But yeah, check out that first or second post, the credit to shabbyprincess.com is in there."

So I left another comment letting her know that she needs to have it have it on the templates (such as in the side bar) that people are using because it is making them violate terms and they don't realize that. Oh let me back up for a second.... after I left that first comment, I thought well maybe Shabby Tulips is Shabby Princess but I doubted it, but I sent the following email to Shabby Princess.

"I just left a comment on your latest blog post, but I continued to do a little more exploring on your site and I found your email me button. I wasn’t sure if you were aware that there was a blog out there called Shabby Tulips. It looks like who ever is in charge and it may be you is using your free kits to create blogger templates. They are free of charge but the thing that caught my eye is there is no credit given to you. That is why I don’t think that it is you making them. I love your free kits and I hope that this person doesn’t stop you from making them. Right now I am using your Smell my Feet kit as a background and buttons for my blog. Yes I am giving you credit. Anyway, I just wanted you to be aware of this site. I just think that credit should be given where credit is due! I left a comment on the blog that the person should be giving credit to you for it. And I may be wrong and it may be you doing the blog. Just wanted to let you know just in case is isn’t/wasn’t!"

Remember that was before the whole response that there was credit given in the first post or whatever. ALSO, after I left my first comment others commented on the fact that she should give credit and one other person commented that she is violating terms by distributing. Through out today, I have received some emails from angry bloggers saying that I got Shabby Tulips site taken down. I replied to some of those emails and said that I did not purposely try to get her site shut down and that she was violating terms and that is why it got shut down. I didn't realize that she was violating other terms also. She was just failing to give credit somewhere on her page that was visible at all times. The last few emails I just deleted, because I am not going to argue with people that have no understanding what so ever! So before you hit that EMAIL US button! Please go read Shabby Princess' TERMS.

Ha how ironic, while typing this post up I just received the following reply from Shabby Princess that says the following:

"Hi NaTasha! I work for Shabby Princess on different projects and fighting piracy is one of them…lol! THANK YOU so much for taking the time to email us on this one! The web is such a big place that there is no way for us to keep up with everything, so we really rely on our customers to let us know about things like this! The good news is that someone else had also notified us of this a couple weeks ago. We emailed the owner of the blog and we heard back from her last night that she had taken everything down! This kind of thing seems to be popular right now, but it is considered a form of sharing our files and is against our terms. The blog owner didn’t realize this though. Thanks for keeping your eyes out for us, we really appreciate it!!!

Have a great night!

So you see, I am not the sole blogger, that got her shut down. Did I want her blog to get shut down? No, I just wanted her to know that she should be giving credit where credit is due. I didn't realize until tonight that she was actually violating another term, which was "sharing files" I had noticed that another commenter on her blog had said that. So please quit sending rude and hateful emails to me about this! If you are currently using a kit or background from a site, just make sure you have credit given to that person/company on your page (not just a post unless you can guarantee that it stays on top). I don't mind if you email me questions about my template on how I did it or on how to do something. I will try to answer and help you the best I can.

If you still think that some how I shut this girl's site down and feel like you need to tell me something about it, please leave it in a comment... don't flood my inbox with emails! Thanks!

~The great and wonderful me! ~

On to other news! I hope everyone has a Happy Halloween tomorrow! I have a test so pray for me! MPM

I just realized that I haven't thought of a menu for this week and I have a break (4 hrs) before my next class so this is what I came up with....

Tonight (Monday)- left overs
Tuesday- Jambalaya (didn't make it last week)
Wednesday- Spaghetti
Thursday- Chicken and Rice Casserole
Friday- Smothered Burritos

Too see what other bloggers are having this week hop on over to Laura's at I'm an Organizing Junkie.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This weekend I did absolutely nothing! Both Shawn and I have these awful colds. I think the girls I watch gave them to us. Saturday I pretty much stayed in bed all day watching life time movies. Yesterday was pretty much the same thing except I did a little studying. Shawn worked. Oh something I thought was kind of funny.... Saturday a Jury Summons (I think that is what it is called) arrived in the mail for Shawn for November 5th. He already has to go to court for two cases that morning. I don't think they are going to want him to be on those juries!
Anyway we don't have much going on this week. I have a test on Wednesday. I haven't decided if I am going to go home after my classes and pass out candy by myself or go visit my parents. Shawn is going to pick up a few extra hours that night, so he won't be home. Well I need to get started on a final draft of my paper.
I hope you all have a wonderful week and don't forget to leave a question! Once I have at least 10 I will start answering them! Have a great Monday!
AHHH
Happy Friday to all! lol
12:55 AM and I am wide awake..... ugh. I have no clue why either!
So what have I been doing?
Well first I was playing on pogo for a while. Then I went to Pink Taffey Designs just looking imagining/dreaming/thinking and wowing at some of the prices! I love the monkey and lobster Halloween costumes. (No we are not thinking about expanding our family! I just like looking at the stuff)
Hmmm then I went and washed my face and brushed my teeth. Went to bed and umm... laid there, turned over, laid there, and finally got back up and went through links for something to read
So the winner for giving me something new to read/watch tonight goes to Ellen. The videos of the boys were too cute! Especially Kyle reading... If I had an extra goody bag I would send you one, but I don't :(.
After I watched those videos I went and logged on to PWO and read and posted on the boards. Then I visited other blogs I read and ended up on blogs through links that I have never been to before. I added two to my favorites to visit later. This one I came across this lady had quads and I ended up going back to her announcement of them. I couldn't imagine!
So I was sitting here thinking about all the blogs I visit, some I have commented on and others I haven't but none the less I guess that makes me some what of a lurker! lol Anyway, I know I have a few on this blog because of stat counts. I would like for everyone that reads this blog to leave a comment and a question. A question about me, Shawn, our life, our spolied dogs, or whatever you would like to know about us, and I will make a post of answers!
This weekend, I don't have any major plans other than studying for a test and writing a paper. I will watch the girls for a couple of hours. Oh today Shawn and I were sitting on the floor and B used my shoulder to stand up, turn around, then walked to Shawn. I just never thought a 7 month old could walk. Sometimes they are still learning how to crawl at that age. I mean I know it happens, I just didn't think I would watch one do it.
It looks like my mom and I will be getting together again on Saturday. I am loving the mother daughter day! Shawn is working a football game tomorrow night I guess that would be tonight. And he is working for the PD this weekend. They switched his blood pressure medicine this week, but his labs and everything looked good. I think I am finally tired enough to go to sleep! Hope you all have a lovely weekend! Don't forget to leave a question/comment! By the way it is 1:17
Wow so true!
I don't know how many readers actually visit Girl Talk or visit other links we have listed. Anyway I just read yesterday's post on Girl Talk and for the most part they were taking a break yesterday, but they did leave their readers with this link... and isn't it so true!
Assumptions- venting
I'm not really mad right now just annoyed. It amazes me how much people speculate and assume things about my life all because of a couple of myspace comments. When the truth is they are totally wrong about things. It doesn't really make me mad it just irritates me. This might come across wrong to a few people (I really don't care right now), but I just have WAY to much going on right now to even worry about other people's feelings because they read a few myspace comments and assumed things.
Most people already know that I hit an all time low this last spring. I don't ever want to go back there. Over the summer I did a lot of reflecting on how I got there, ways I can make sure I never get back there, and mainly just a lot of thinking about my life. I thought about all the different time periods in my life, friendships/relationships, and many other things. I realized what relationships/friendships caused problems for me. I like those people there is just something about them that brings some kind of negativity to my life. So I have chosen to keep them at a distance (if that makes since) now if any of them were to call me and needed something I would be there for them. But they aren't the first people I would call if I had a problem. In away I guess you could say that I have guarded my heart from them. Like I was telling Shawn tonight, it has been so up down roller coaster type with a few people that I just don't ever see myself having a deep intellectual feeling type conversation with them. Its more of a surface type thing. Like Hi, how are you, we should do lunch, how are your kids... Don't get me wrong I care about these people, I just don't trust them... Sorry if this doesn't make since... its all in my head and hard to type out... I guess in away with a couple of them it is just easier to walk away and have surface type conversations than to actually deal with a few issues. I have never been one that when an argument or problem arises and both sides end up walking away, that the next day I am able to put it under the rug and act like it never happened. I just can't do it and I just feel like you can't have a real relationship/friendship with someone unless BOTH sides are able to address things.
Anyway, like I said before I don't ever want to be that unhappy again so I refuse to put myself into toxic relationships. I don't even see them as friendships anymore. I would take one best friend over a million surface relationships any day. It is crazy how life changes....
YUCK!
So I am watching the girls today and both of them are sick with colds and congestion. While M was taking her nap I heard her coughing. I went in check on her and she was already back to sleep. A few seconds later I hear her crying. So I run in there to find that she had thrown up. It was all in her hair (she has very long hair), on her shirt, her blanket, and the pillow. It was so disgusting, but I got her and the rest of it cleaned up! They are both back to sleep. M is on a steroid, she was up from 2 am until 12:30 pm. Her mom called the doctor and I guess it is a side effect. Anyway I thought that was just crazy!
Have a great Friday!
WOW!!!
I don't have any tests on Monday! It's a first this semester!!! No stressing this weekend! This week has been awesome compared to last week. Last week I really didn't even want to get out of bed. I have to do a scavenger hunt at a museum this weekend, but it won't be too bad because I will be spending some time with my mom and sister so it should be lots of fun! I love spending time with them and it will be two weekends in a row. That is probably a first in a long time too! Hope all of you are having a good week!!!
Curious?
Has anyone else been reading or paying attention for the FoodTalk going on at Girl Talk? I have been and it has changed my attitude towards food and the scale went down 1.8 lbs this week. I have been in a slump since September not gaining but not loosing. I think that might have helped a bit! I meant to mention it earlier, so I thought I would real quick. Pray for me I have a midterm tonight! Off to study.....
Don't forget about the Halloween Hide-n-Seek Contest!
And another thing if you do read about it, I wouldn't mind sharing a conversation or two about it like through email or something.... anyways I would like to know other thoughts and opinions on it and how you can relate. I do know weight is a touchy and emotional subject that is why I said through email and not leave a comment. Well I better go....
Happy Monday!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Today was beautiful outside! I loved it! While outside I noticed that we have a rose blooming. I don't think I have ever seen one bloom in October!! I am ready for the weather to drop down in to the 60's and stay. I am tired of the 80's and 90's!

Our weekend wasn't too exciting. Friday night Shawn worked a football game and I went for the first half with Kristin and her daughters (the girls I watch). It was homecoming and her oldest daughter who is almost 4 was just fascinated with all the nominees' dresses. Anytime she didn't see them she would ask where they went and why. She wasn't too happy after half time when they all disappeared.

Yesterday, Shawn worked and I studied and did laundry. When he got home we ate, caught up with our shows that were on the dvr, and then watched the WT football game (They won!!). Oh last night, I discovered my MIL won a $50 giveaway! I ran to the room where Shawn was and yelled your mom won! Your mom won! And he is all what? He just didn't get it so then I grabbed my cell and called her and told her! She was excited, I was excited, and Shawn just thought we were both crazy! :)

Today has been some what more productive than yesterday. This morning we went to church, came home took about an hour nap, babysat for a couple of hours, mowed the front and the back yard, washed Shawn's patrol car (yes I helped), and I finished my book over a fingerplay for class tomorrow night.

So far for the week it just looks like I will be studying. I have 3 tests this week one tomorrow and two on Wednesday. Speaking of Wednesday, Shawn has a doctor's appointment that day. They are checking his blood pressure and if it is high then they will start the tests and take whatever the next step is, so keep him in your prayers.

I hope everyone has a great week!

Oh two more things....

  1. There is a new poll on the side, so don't forget to vote!
  2. Tuesday the 9th, Is the last day to order from my Online Tupperware Party!

TV

I feel some what better. I hate the uneasy feeling of my stomach after I have been sick!

So did anyone watch Grey's Anatomy? I liked tonight's episode better than the season premiere, same with Private Practice! There were alot of season premieres that I just wasn't all that impressed with. But I loved the 2nd episodes. lol

Is anyone watching Kid Nation? Shawn and I have been recording it on the DVR and then watching it together. It amazes me how well they work together. I mean they obviously have a few problems to work out but over all I think they are doing a great job.

We don't have any big weekend plans. Shawn will be working in Atown tomorrow and Saturday. I have lunch plans with my mom tomorrow. But other than that I will be home catching up on a couple of school projects and studying for two tests. And possibly changing the template to a Halloween theme. Also there is a new poll up! Don't forget to vote! Finally, Tuesday the 9th, is the last day to order from my online party.

Hope everyone has a great FRIDAY!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In case you didn't know Shawn surprised me with tickets to:
The show was soooo awesome and wonderful! I thought it would be cheaper than going to the fair, but it wasn't. The program was 20.00, but it is something I can keep forever! There were so many little girls dressed up as princesses.
The little girl behind us turned 4 on Thursday and was there for her birthday. She kind of got restless through some parts, but when Ariel and Cinderella (or Cindi to some :) ) came out she got so excited. Then at one point during Cinderella, Goofy came out to announce the Ball and he was dressed in a baby blue prince outfit, and the girl kept asking, "Mommy why is Goofy dressed like a girl?" Her mom said "Sweety he isn't dressed like a girl, he is dressed like a prince." Then the little girl says, "He should find a new prince outfit because that one makes him look like a girl." The way she girl was way too cute. Anyway I had a great time and Shawn seemed to enjoy it. It wasn't too "girly" for him. :)
The rest of this weekend we spent cleaning, doing laundry, doing homework, and studying for tests. I have two this week. (YUCK!) Shawn did get called out lastnight for a transport. I think they called a little after 10:30 and he didn't get home until after 4 this morning.
There is a NEW POLL on the side, make sure you VOTE!
Oh ya real quick before I go: Did you see who won today? 30-24
The COLTS! HA GOTTA LUV EM! :)
Taking a break...
from studying. I have another test in my Earth Science Class. In fact the next three class meetings I will have a test. Lots of information in a short amount of time. It wouldn't be too bad if I were actually interested in it, but I am not. So it makes it harder to study.
Tonight is Shawn's last night working for a while. He switches back to days on Wednesday. Nights really didn't bother me too much this time. His ankle seems to be doing better. He has been running a mile and 1/2 every morning after shift. Saturday morning I woke up at 8:30 worried because he wasn't home. (If he goes to breakfast with his shift in the morning he is normally home by 7. ) I forgot he told me he was going running and then to the PD to left weights. I didn't panic to much, because in the back bedroom I saw his vest. That's when it clicked that he we went to go work out. When he got home, he said he woke me up and told me he was leaving. Obviously, I was still asleep when I told him okay.
For the first time in a couple of weeks we really don't have anything going on this week except Saturday we have a housewarming to go to, but other than that its just the usual stuff school and work. I don't even have any kids until Thursday and Friday morning and not until 6:30. It will be nice, not having to deal with two kids at 4:30 in the morning.
Anyway I guess I better get back to studying. I am suppose to go run with Shawn at 6. We will see how that goes...
Tuesday, September 11, 2007
Menu and other things
I know its not Monday but I had school from 10am to 9:00 pm. I think we got home around 11. Anyway this weeks Menu starting with today is:
Tuesday- Chicken Enchiladas with rice and beans
Wednesday- left overs (school for me)
Thursday- Steak (for Shawn) and Chicken (for me) on the grill, Corn on the Cob, and Salad
Friday- Chicken Cordon Bleu and peas
Saturday- Smothered Burritos and Corn
Too see what others are making this week go on over to Organizing Junkie.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Shawn was released by the doctor this morning. So he will be back at work tonight! But he has to go back to the doctor on the 1st of October to check his blood pressure and if it is still high then they will start the tests that day or something like that. At least that is what Shawn says. I didn't get up and go this morning. I stayed up till 2:30 studying Sunday night and got up at 6 yesterday so I was exhausted. Do I feel bad? Nope, I feel refreshed and like I have my energy back.

This is like the first week of tests in my classes. I feel some what okay if I know a test is going to be multiple choice or even just a straight out essay. The one I had yesterday was short answer and listing. But I knew everything but one stupid question my mind when blank on. Then of course as I hand it in I remember. But that question was only worth 1 point so I don't think it can hurt me too bad. I have a test tomorrow for another class but I am not too worried about it.

While studying the other day I found out that I have no patience for writing things out anymore. I use to love to write but now I don't have the patience and would rather type it up. Example: I was writing out stuff for my tests on Index Cards by the 4th one I told Shawn we are going to walmart. This is what I bought Avery Index Card paper (a lot cheaper than what the site cost says) Anyways it worked out perfectly! I came home opened two word documents up had a front template and a back template and was able to go from there. 20 Minutes later I was done with a 92 cards (4 cards per page). And another example is one of my instructors is going straight from the book about whats important and this or that. I highlight it and in my spiral write down the topic and then page number and whatever point she makes that isn't in the book. Then when I go to the Computer lab I type up my notes print out and study that way. Is anyone else like this?

Anyway, since it is getting darker earlier and right now I shouldn't be walking after dark. I think Minnie and I are going to go walk a couple of miles. Maybe I can talk Shawn into going but I doubt it. I think he is heading to bed until about 3:00.

Oh one more thing! Happy Birthday Ryan! I don't think he reads it but just in case :)

Shawn update

When we went to the doctor on Thursday he pretty much told Shawn the sooner he could put pressure on it the better and he would release him as soon as he can run with no problem. He's been walking on it and hasn't said anything about pain today so hopefully Tuesday night he will be back at work. Also on Tuesday they will check his blood pressure it was really high. If it is still high then they will start running tests. I have been bugging him to go for months now but has he listened? Nope, but he did tell me I was right in front of the Doctor. That doesn't happen very often! lol Anyway that's pretty much it. I am glad it wasn't as bad as they originally thought!

What a morning already!

It was a late night!!! Shawn couldn't get comfortable for anything and the Darvocet wore off about 1 am and the advil wasn't easing the pain. I think he finally dosed off around 2:30. But by that time I was so afraid to move and wake him up or hurt his ankle anymore by making him move his leg. Right now he is at the PD finishing up some reports and talking to Chief and LT. So we will see what happens. I think for sure he is taking Wednesday and Thursday off. As far as his pay goes he has about 160 hours of sick time. Plus another 12 hours of sick leave earned. He works a minimum of 84 hrs every two weeks. So that will cover him for 4 weeks if he is out that long. I am praying and hoping that it is only two weeks. It started to change colors last night but t his morning it doesn't look all that bruised just really really swollen still. He is on crutches and has a walking boot.

So in case you are wondering how it happened. We were finishing up our walk, Kristen and the girls were already at her apt. We were about 3 blocks from our house fixing to cross a street, when Minnie saw a cat and in the opposite direction was this chuachua that Copper tried to go after. While Shawn is stepping down off the parking lot. So he tries to catch his balance, but ends up falling and rolling. Then of course I am trying to see if he is okay and the dogs are going crazy because he is on the ground and they are walking all over him. He finally sits up and then coming around the corner is the Sgt that was on duty. He saw us earlier walking, but was on a call. He was really coming to find us to look at Copper since hadn't seen him before. He asked Shawn if he was okay and wanted a ride back to the house, Shawn declined. So he walked the rest of the way. We got home he sat down on the couch. I went in to look at it and said lets go to the ER. They took an x-ray and said they didn't see a break but they would have their radiology dept. look at it. Then Shawn says so I will be good to go with in a couple of days and the er Dr says um no you severely sprained it and sometimes that is almost worst then breaking it. Then Shawn starts questioning him about driving and the Dr. isn't stupid he knows what Shawn is getting to and just flat out tells him I can't release you to work unless it is a desk job. But it was kind of funny watching all of the ER doctors and nurses tease and bug Shawn over it. (He deals with them pretty regularly, most of the time making an arrest or taking a statement.)

9:30 -He is back home now. We are waiting to hear back from the Doctor's office. Apparently, they are waiting on the insurance company to call them back to say that we do have insurance through them. I think that is one of the stupidest things I have heard. Anyway, Shawn is off for the week. Well except Friday, he got approved to still go to the taser training and certification class. I keep asking if I can go. I think it would be fun to watch the majority of the officers get tased. Just in case you didn't know they have to be tased in order to carry a taser.

Anyway he is asking for something to drink, so me being the nice wife I am (for now) need to get off here and go take him a drink and some more Advil.
