EEEEE! / Cookie Swap help...

I feel like I can’t concentrate on just one thing anymore. I have several things that I have to get done for school. And I just can’t seem to focus on just one thing without thinking of the next thing. Maybe it is lack of sleep and increased stress, but I am starting to feel like a crazy person. I dropped the ball big time this last week. I am a very much a if it starts at 9 and you get there at 9, you are late type of person. Now you can read about my awful week or you can scroll down towards the bottom of this post and read the last little bit (cookie swap), comment, and help me out.

Monday, woke up late class started at 8 I walked in at 8:17. The teacher was nice about it, she understood, and she did say that I have the longest drive out of everyone in there, but I was still mad at myself for the rest of the day, okay lie, I am still upset with myself over it.

Tuesday went to “the” school, teacher wasn’t there, they were doing something different after lunch, which resulted in me leaving at 11.

Wednesday, left on time, came across 2 accidents, class started at 8:30 and I walked in some time after 8:45. She had not started on anything, but I still felt myself needing to “catch up” and telling myself to breathe.

Thursday I didn’t go to “the” school.

Friday, I had a seminar for school that started at 9, I don’t know if Shawn turned off the alarm, but I woke up and it said 8:50. I thought maybe I would go to the afternoon part, but I started thinking that Shawn and I haven’t spent that much time together and he had to work this weekend. So I said, “forget it”, I am staying home.

I am praying that this week is much better than last week and that I can cross some things off my very long list. Shawn’s grandparent’s 50th anniversary party is this weekend. His parents are staying with us a few days and will get here sometime Thursday. Anyway with that going on, this weekend will be full of family time/things, leaving hardly any time for my school stuff. Next Monday (the 3rd) I have several things due. I am still working on last minute things that are due this week and lessons I need to do at “the” school.

So here is kind of a silly little thing, I am not sure if I have mentioned it on here before or not…

I really want to do a Cookie Swap this year, so yes I did a silly little thing and added another thing to my long list of things to get done. The semester will be over before the actual party. If you have been to one before, can you share your experience, things you liked, things you didn’t like, games you played, how many people were invited/showed up, that sort of stuff. If you haven’t been to one but have heard about one, what did you hear? And one for everyone… How close should to Christmas should I plan it? I was looking at December 12th or 13th….

I know it may sound silly, but I love hearing about little party things like this, and I have always wanted to do a Cookie Swap, and I hope it works out so I can do one every year. Cheesy to some I know, but exciting and fun to me.

A little better

We will see for sure tomorrow. I am praying that things turn around. It helps that I let it all out to my teachers yesterday and today. I was talking to some friends in class today and I found out that I wasn't the only one that has had a couple of melt downs in the last two weeks. That probably sounds wrong, but sometimes just knowing that I am not the only one stressed out makes a difference. My melt down last week was from looking at my calendar of the next two months and just trying to figure out how to get everything done with out missing and eliminating events. I just keep telling myself that it will be the 2nd week of December before I know it. I can't wait for that week to come so I can look back and say wow, I survived it.

But anyway, that's that for now. I have homework to get back to.

Frustrated

So I had melt down number 1 for this semester Wednesday and melt down number 2 today. I am so frustrated and becoming more and more overwhelmed. I feel like I am one of the ones that usually gets stuck with a teacher that I just learn the what not to do's from. Don't get me wrong, I have had a few that I absolutely love or maybe not realy like personality wise, but learn so much from, this time... I have no idea why this person signed up to take a student. It is making me frustrated not only with what I have to get done for school, but with myself as well. I am one that can normally just deal with it and keep trudging along, but this time I just don't want too! And I feel stupid for feeling that way. I just want to have the hands on experience, not go sit in a chair and stay out of the way type thing. I don't want to walk in to student teaching next semester and not have a clue. UGHHHHH I have to quit writing. Sorry this posting is only getting me all worked up again. I am off to bed....

Positive notes....

  • I was prepared for my midterm and feel like I got an A.
  • Jenna and I aced our scientist of the week yesterday even though our lab part really didn't work the way it was suppose to.
  • I finished and turned my edublog in on time. I am pretty sure I will get an A on it as well. The list of other students edublogs is up.
  • The class part of school is keeping me super busy, but I love all the new stuff I am learning... if only I could apply it.
  • I might be the only one, but I am loving the rain and cold weather!

Friday Fill-ins

1. One of the best concerts/plays/movies I ever saw that I really didn't think I'd like was that one show? I can’t remember my brain is fried for the day.
2. Lasagna is a recipe I recently made (or meal I recently ordered) that was delicious!
3. It's time for bed.
4. Sleep is quite refreshing.
5. If I never hear the word retarded along with the gestures people give again, it'll be too soon.
6. To one side of the curving road was a deer, and on the other was a car that hit it (I saw that on my way home tonight).
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to going to bed (I spent the evening at my parents house), tomorrow my plans include the usual school stuff and Sunday, I want to go to church and put the right stuff in my brain to pass my midterm!

hehehehe I wish!

I guess I owe somewhat of an explanation…..

It seems that some have noticed my name changing on my profile and then an extra blog added. No, I am not a 4th grade teacher, but I am sort of pretending to be for science methods. Everyone has to create an edublog that follows the Science TEKs of their chosen grade level. I chose 4th grade. We have to have at least 4 posts with at least 3 links over the TEKS we choose along with a welcome post. It is due next Monday, and then after that I will change everything back!

Anyway,  thanks for the emails of congrats, I appreciate it, but unfortunately I cannot accept them. I guess the good news is that it is only a matter of months before I can!!!!

Friday Fill-in and a recipe

1. October is a beautiful month with all the leaves changing colors.
2. Cats scare me!
3. Leaves are falling all around, it's a beautiful time.
4. My favorite horror movie is none because I cannot handle any of them, like final destination scares me..
5. Hanging out with friends = good memories.
6. It was a dark and stormy night and my husband got called out because the power in the town went out (true story).
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to getting the rest of my Halloween stuff out, tomorrow my plans include getting projects done for school and Sunday, I want to go to church and then finish my school projects!

Check out more Friday Fill-ins here.

This week Shawn made these awesome chicken quesadillas and fiesta rice. I am not a quesadilla fan, so you know if I liked them they are good!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Preheat oven 425 degrees
  2. In medium non stick skillet over medium-high heat, cook chicken 5 minutes or until no longer pink and juice evaporate, stirring often. Add soup and salsa. Heat to a boil stirring occasionally.
  3. Place tortillas on 2 baking sheets. Top half of each tortilla with about 1/2 cup soup mixture. Spread to within 2/3 inch of edge. (He added shredded cheese to ours) Moisten edges of tortilla with water. Fold over and press edges together.
  4. Bake 5 minutes or until hot.
