1) Rain and Sleet 2) Ice 3) Rain. What does this mean?

It means that the weather is yucky outside. DUH! LOL When we left the apartment to go to church this morning it was a rain and sleet mix. We walk out of church around 9:15 and we get hit with ice. Fun Fun. Then we head over to another church this morning so that Shawn could meet and talk to a man. (tell you more about that in a second) and when we leave there it is pooring down rain. Hip Hip Hoaray! NOT!!! I guess I should stop complaining about all the rain and thank God for it, because for a while there we were constantly praying for rain. I just wish there was a way for it to rain and snow with the sun shinning brightly outside no gray clouds. Then I would be totally okay with it.
Guess what I did yesterday? I cooked my first eggs. You are probably like what??? I have cooked scrambled eggs before but that was it. I wanted an egg sandwhich for lunch yesterday and so did Shawn but neither one of us knew how to make the eggs for it. So I called my daddyo up because he always makes awesome eggs and I asked him. He laughed, but he did tell me how to do it. I must say that my eggs turned out to be really good. Shawn liked them and so did I. But, I also have to admit that they weren't as great as my dad's eggs. Yesterday, I also did some laundry. Word of advice, never go to long with out doing your laundry. We went two weeks and it was just crazyness. The one good thing about going that long is that you rediscover old sweaters and shirts that you like, but forgot about. Bad thing about is that there are lots of clothes that need to be washed now.
Also yesterday, I went and put all of the pictures that the photographer took from my wedding on to a cd. I was going to post pictures on my blog because I thought it was going to post clear pictures. I do not like the pictures when they post because my face looks all distorted. So what is the point of the picture then? I will probably email people some of the pictures. If they want them. Maybe I can find an online photo album to post them in.
Lets see, o yes, I kind of got bummed out yesterday when I called my sister to see who was going to do her hair and help her get ready for the dance and she said her friend. You see, I have pretty much always done her hair and helped her get ready. However, I was not bummed for long because I was able to stop by her friend's house and see her hair. Jasmin (sorry if I misspelled) did an awesome job. From reading Meghan's blog it sounds like she had a fun time. I do hope she gets out of Mr. Scott's class. I honestly think he is a perv and should be fired!!! Go Meghan for kicking him. oops did I say that? Surprised she didn't get in trouble.
Okay so on to the big news well sorta.... I think my making eggs for the first time this weekend is the highlight. But this is very important too! So anyway... here it goes. Lastnight as Shawn, Ryan, and I were driving to the apartment from walmart around 10:00 lastnight. Shawn gets a call from Kevin. (He did the reading of the verses at our wedding) and said that a member of his church is looking to hire someone. This guy does stuff with refregiration. Like refrigerators and ice machines and stuff. The start out pay is great, the benefits are awesome and he will send them to school to get all the cerftication and the pay will be even better. People just don't call you up offering you a job. So we went to Kevin's church this morning so Shawn could talk to this guy. The guy is very interested in Shawn. The Company is a Christian based company so that is always good and they are well known from Amarillo down to Dallas. So they are never with out work. However, Shawn is still interested in the Prision Guard thing too. So lastnight before we went to bed Shawn and I sat down and talked about it and he said that he really wanted to get back in to a field and work with his hands because he loves working with his hands. I can understand why, he loved working for ISR in Florida and he misses it. Opportunities like this just do not come around. So I do not know what God has instore for us?? I was thinking maybe the prision guard thing is taking so long because God knew that this was going to come about. I think after talking to the guy this morning Shawn really wants to do it. So if you could just pray for Shawn right now that would greatly be appreciated. Sorry if this sounds confusing. Maybe because it is confusing me, maybe not confusing but very unexpected. I will find out more tomorrow.
Shawn's Grandma Mary left this morning. Hopefully, she will find out more about moving there that way she can let Shawn and I know soon. That way we will know what to expect. However, I have a peace about all of that. I prayed along time ago when I was so worried about all of this and that day I found something out about stressing. So I gave it all to God and I know everything will be okay.
Lets see.. what else has happened since the last time I posted. O yes, hearing my brother's voice in the living room reminded me that Ryan did decide to play baseball this season. I kind of knew that he was going to in the end. I think we all did, but I will have to admit sometimes I didn't think he was. Sometimes, I think the baseball season can get just as cold as the football season around here. It starts in February and that is when we get most of our snow. I still have not met his girlfriend. I was going to this morning after church but she had to go to work. Hmmm... would it be weird if I showed up to her job and asked for her? Just playing. I would never do that. She seems pretty nice to my brother. I just don't like the fact that everyone else has met her except me. Well not everyone because Shawn and some of you still have not met her. Speaking of that makes me think that Meghan is crushing big time on Genaro. Don't kill me Meghan but I had to say that. Your blog gives it away. I believe you said I am going to have to talk with him. Or something along those lines. It made me laugh. Maybe he will stick around until August and he can ask you out on your 16th b-day. :) anyways, I don't have much else to say, but I did find a verse that I really like in the B-I-B-L-E. So, I shall end with that.

The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save, He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with his love, He will rejoice over you with singing. Zephaniah 3:17

Rain, Rain, Go away!! 70 degree weather come back please!!!

It was so nice out side the past few days and now it is cold and rainy. They are even talking about snow this weekend. Yuck. But I guess that is weather for you in the Texas Panahandle. 70's one day and 30's the next. Crazy-azy if you ask me. I don't have my two classes today. I am just glad that my teachers were nice and emailed the class before I drove out to Canyon in the rain.
It is deffinately crazy being back at work. I was so busy yesterday. It made the time go by fast. Even though I don't have physics today, I still have to do two chapters so my best bet is to do those today. I don't have much else really to say. So here is some really cute things to read.

A first grade teacher collected some well known proverbs. She gave each child in her class the first half of a proverb, and had them come up with the rest.

Here are their completions:

Back at work, Seventh Heaven, and Neighbors

Yesterday, was my first day back to work in over a week. It was a very busy day. You would have thought that we had just had a three day weekend and we were working Tuesday's stuff. But we weren't. It made the day go by fast. I like those days, but at the same time I don't. Because it feels like you are never going to get done with the days work. O well. My boss, said that she really missed me last week and that you can tell when I am gone. I asked her if that was a good thing or a bad thing. She said it was good because I was a big asset to the team and I had great work ethics. I thought that was really cool.
Does anyone ever watch seventh heaven? Who would have thought that Lucy would have her baby in the elevator. I thought lastnight's show was cute and all, but come on how many time do you watch a tv show or movie and the woman has her baby in the elevator? I was kind of expecting Mary to show up since Simon did. But she didn't.
Anyways, I do not have my 11:00 class this morning. I really like my classes this semester so I am kind of bummed that we don't have class. However, I think I am going to call around to the schools and get my observation times scheduled. I also have to go get a tb test. I don't think it is suppose to be painful, but not totally sure exactly what they do.
Shawn has started bringing boxes home, so we are fixing to start packing. Our neighbors were fighting again at like 3:30 this morning. I hate it when I am sleeping good and they slam their door and start argueing again. Shawn doesn't seem to mind it, but then again he was also deep away into his sleep snoring. I seen yesterday they had a notice, so maybe just maybe, if the cops are called out again they will be kicked out or maybe it told them to clean up in front of their door. I just think that is rude. I dont think my guests want to be greated with two dog cages full of dog mess when coming to knock on my door. Besides that I do not like to be greated with the smell in the mornings. Well anyways, that is all I have really to talk about and say for now.

So long, until next time!

New Year's resolution?

80% of you said that you did not have a New Year's resolution. 20% of you did have a New Year's resolution. So good luck to those of you that do have a New Year's resolution. Mine is to keep my car clean. Thanks to my brother, Ryan, who was really nice and cleaned it out for me this weekend.

A Neat Poem

Last night, In Shawn and I's devotion we read this really cool poem. I liked it so I decided to post it.

You are who you are for a reason.
You're a part of an intricate plan.
You're a precious and perfect unique design,
Called God's special woman or man.

You look like you for a reason.
Our God made no mistake.
He knit you together within the womb,
You're just what he wanted to make.

The parents you had were the ones he chose,
And no matter how you may feel,
They were cutom-designed with the God's plan in mind,
And they bear the Master's seal.

No, that trauma you faced was not easy.
And God wept that it hurt you so;
But it was allowed to shape your heart
So that into his likeness you'd grow.

You are who you are for a reason,
You've been formed by the Master's rod.
You are who you are, beloved,
Because there is a God!

Caleb Jonah Sutherland

My Aunt sent the following email: Caleb Jonah, 7lbs 8oz,20 in. long was born at 5:30 am Jan 21, 2005. Caleb was in a hurry to get here so did not wait for the hospital, he was born in the hallway of his new home in Nevada after a short 45 min labor. Daddy assisted until the EMT arrived very shortly to finish the delivery and take baby and mom of to the hospital with daddy in quick pursuit behind. All are doing well. Uncle Craig and cousins, Gabe and Samantha were visiting so were able to join in the eventful morning.

Happy Birthday Caleb!!! :)

Exciting News!! Read All About It!!!!

You are probably wondering why my little sister has a post on my blog. I told her she could post, because I was trying to convince her that she would have fun with a blog. She likes it and now she is going to get her own. As soon as she does create her own blog, I will post her link.
Anyway, on to more exciting news. This morning my mom called to tell me that my cousin Andrea had her baby. It was quite comical or at least mom made it sound like that. I guess Andrea had her baby in the hallway at home. That is crazy. I think mom had Ryan fast so maybe it is with the second child or something. Who knows. I bet she is glad that it didn't last long. anyways Congrats to Dave, Andrea, and Bryce on the newest edition of their family. I bet Bryce is excited about his new baby brother. I think it is cool that he was born the day after my birthday. I also know of another baby that is going to be born today and that is my sister-in-law Nyki's best friend will have her baby today. So congrats to Dixie. I think that is how you spell her name. Sorry if I spelled any name wrong.
Yesterday was such a great day. The weather was so pretty and nice out. We were in the 70's. Mom said when I turned 2 it was in the 80's here. That was our record high. I got lots of birthday gifts and I loved them all. My brother shocked me, he got me 2 shot glasses and a couple of key chains, that talked about turning 21. They were funny. Anyways, then he made the joke, that I would probably turn around and just give him them back when he turned 21, since I really don't drink. I thought it was funny.
I also realized that every single day this week, I have not slept in past 7:30. It doesn't help that people have called me early, which was okay, because I was just laying in bed trying to tell myself to go back to sleep. But, I never can because it seems like my body is wide a wake. But just wait, Monday morning when it is time for me to go back to work, my body will not want to get up. Toodles for now!

High school Drama

hey ppl,
was up just thought i'd drop a few words about my high school life. It just seems like every other week i'm fighting with one of my friends or one of my friends is fighting with one of my other friends. Its so stupid because some how i'm always in the middle of it, because everyone comes to me for help or should i say advice. some times its really stressfull. right now my friend gena doesn't like my other friend genero. i think she might be upset because i talk to him more then her. I can understand but she doesn't need to call me and get on to me for something he said. But we are cool for now.hopefully i won't end up having to choose between them because they are both really great friends. Any suggestions on how i can get them to tolerate each other? e-mail me at faithfull_chic_11@hotmail.com.
Always and Forever,
meghan r godwin

Guess What today is (other than 01-20-05)?????

If you said Tasha's birthday and the presidential Inauguration Day you are correct. I just got done with my Special Education Class and I have a couple of hours to kill until my next class. This is suppose to be my time to work on my online classes, however that is hard when there is nothing to do right now. Both of my online teachers left unit one open for the first three weeks. The majority of unit one is what books you need for the class, what to read, reading the syllabus, and finding your way around the online class. I know I shouldn't be complaining because I will probably turn around and start complaining that they are giving out to much work. Oh ya, my quiz results. I didn't think I did too bad, um okay soooooooo I did great!!! I didn't think I was going to be able to remember everything I was suppose to remember, but I did. But I have to give thanks to my husband that stayed up with me and quizzed me. Actually, he said I couldn't go to bed until I got it right. I love having a very supportive husband. Dr. Thomas said something really good today in class. I have heard it before, but it just hit me more today than ever before. He said, "If you don't know where you are going, then how do you know when you get there?" I think it is very important for everyone to have short term and long term goals.

He also gave us our first paper assignment, but he said it will not be due for a while. It is Position Paper I: Inclusion: To what extent do you think students with disabilities should be included in the regular classroom? Should students with disabilities be fully included in regular classrooms for the entire day or should a student's placement be individually determined using the continuum of placement options? Explain the reasons for your opinion. How can teachers shape the attitudes of the nondisabled students toward students with disabilities? Issues that may be addressed include: The advantages and disadvantages of inclusion for students with or without disabilities; labeling issues; separation and stigma issues; and social and educational outcomes for students with disabilities.Throughout your paper and in the context of your arguments, cite specific points from articles with which you agree or disagree and explain why.

So long for now!

Where ever my mind takes me.......

I am taking a break from studying right now. Can you believe I have a quiz tomorrow on my birthday. I think I will do just fine, actually I will probably do great. I think I have everything just about memorized. I got tired of listening to my wonderful (yea Right) neighbors argue and fight very loudly. Glad, I will not be hearing that much longer. Or at least I hope not.
Isn't crazy how time flies by. I can't believe I will be 21 tomorrow. I remember when I was just a little girl standing on a kitchen chair singing a song by Alabama with a broom while my dad was mopping the kitchen floor. I remember with Ryan's help tricking Meghan into doing some crazy things. I also remember loosing patients with Meghan when I was trying to play school and she just wouldn't listen. I think back to the fourth grade when Ryan and I had chicken pox and poor mom only thought she was done, but then Meghan got it and she had it worse than Ryan and me. I also remember my first big slumber party that I had it was when I was in 5th grade. That was big time drama. I think we stayed up until 6 am. All I remember was my mom coming in and finally saying it is time for bed. I think that was my first year to go to church camp too. I remember being nervous and kind of scared but I had Lacy there. I remember when mom came and picked me up and I was greeted at home with a welcome home cake waiting for me. :) My parents are wonderful. I don't know who I would be with out them today. They never picked my friends for me, they always let me find things out for myself. They are always there to give advice or just simply hug, comfort, and hold me over anything even if it was over a horrible haircut that turned out to be not so horrible. They are very supporting and they accept my decisions and they accept me for me. I have so many people in my life that I am thankful for. Like the saying People come and go, but the real people that care about you stick around. That doesn't mean that every person I see or speak to or am socialable on a daily bases or every once in a while is some one that truly cares. Actions always speak louder than words. A person can act like they care and then always turn around and do mean and hurtful things and that is when you see just how caring they are. But then that is also when you get to practice/ use forgiveness. But that does not mean you have to let that person close to you again. Right? Sorry anyways, The more and more I think about it I have lots and lots of people that care about me and love me probably just as much as I love them. I even have Shawn in my life and I couldn't ask for anyone better to spend the rest of my life with. That is a very comforting feeling in my heart right now and forever.
I didn't know what was going to come to my mind when I started typing, I just let the random thoughts in my head poor out. I know I didn't make past elementary with some of my special memories, but maybe one day I will or won't. Who knows I could always write a book about them. Maybe I will or Maybe I won't. Most past middle school are already written down in different journals. So if you read this and are offended don't be. If you have comment post it on the tag board. I have to get back to studying the disability categories. (fun, fun)

Dinner with the President

You are eating dinner with President Bush. While he is talking to you, you notice that he has something stuck in his teeth. What do you do?50% of you said that you would say, "Mr. President you have something in your teeth."33% of you said that you would start messing with your teeth, like you are trying to get something out of them and hope that he notices.and finally 17% said that you would try to ignore it.

Finally, I am done!

So what do you think about our new template. Post a comment and let us know. I think it is awesome looking. It took a while to change a couple of things, but it was worth while.

Our Weekend

This last weekend was such a blast for Shawn and me. The kids were so surprised to see me Saturday morning. I heard Lori up around 7:30 with Miles, so I decided it was time to get up and go surprise the kids. (I couldn't sleep anyways) Makenzie walked in to the kitchen and looked up and yelled Tasha and she was so surprised and Matthew stood there for a second and was like Tasha? then I was greeted withtwo big hugs. I think they were both really shocked. Saturday Ken and Shawn went to a car show. Shawn said that it was a lot of fun and that was the biggest car show he had ever gone to. While they were doing that, Lori, the kids, and me went to the mall and went shopping. We were going to go to the zoo, but it was snowing outside, it was really cold, and Miles did not feel good because he has a couple of teeth coming in. It was fun shopping. I used part of my Old Navy gift card. Old Navy had a lot of stuff on clearance. I think Lori and I got some great deals and walked out of the store feeling like we had saved a bunch of money. Or as for me, I had more money on my gift card to shop with in the future. After we got out of Old Navy, we met the guys to see where we would eat for dinner. Ken and Lori treated us to a really nice Mexican food place. If I remembered the name I would tell you, but I don't. Anyways, I think all of the food is pretty much home made there. Something cool about the place was that the Owner still liked to cook in the back and checks on the other cooks to make sure they are making the food perfect.
Sunday morning, we had a bit of a mix up. Shawn and I woke up realizing that everyone had pretty much kind of overslept and that church started in an hour. So while I was starting to get my stuff together to go jump in the shower, Matthew comes down the stairs and says we are not going to church. So I put my stuff up and go upstairs only to find out that we are still going to go. It was kind of funny, I guess you had to be there. Anyways, we went to church with them then we went and ate at this chicken place. I can't remember that name either? Me and Names, I know! Anyways it was really cool because it is family style and you pick the kind of chicken you want and then the sides come in glass bowls that you pass around the table. They also give you these awesome tasting cinnimon rolls. So much for keeping the pounds I just recently lost off right? Just kidding. Sunday afternoon we just sat around the house playing a video games. They have one of those things that plugs in to the tv and has like 90 something games on it and one of the games is mario. So we all took turns playing that. Later on Lori and I went to walmart to get the pictures she wanted from the negatives of the wedding along with other things. We didn't realize that we had been in Walmart for 3 hours. It was fun though. Shawn and I also decided that we would keep Matthew and Makenzie for Lori and Ken on Monday, while they both went to work. Matthew and Makenzie got really excited about not having to go to bed right then and they continued to work on the activity book things that I got them. Then we went and played superhero's and barbies in the playroom. Afterthat, it was way past bed time. So we all went to bed.
Monday morning, we got up and dressed really warm, ate breakfast, played Mario, then we headed off to the zoo. The zoo there was absolutley awesome. They had this jungle exhibit where the birds were flying around freely. I thought one of them was going to poop on one of us, but we came out all clean. I think Matthew and Makenzie enjoyed the petting zoo, where they got to feed all of the animals. Don't worry we made them wash their hands good. After that Shawn and I took them to Cracker Barrel and we told them that if they cleaned their plate they could get ice cream for dessert. Well since they hadn't done that all weekend we didn't think they would, but I guess they really wanted ice cream, so they cleaned their plates. When we got done at Cracker Barrel we went and played video games, dolls, and house for the remaining hour. Then Lori came home and Makenzie opened up the garage door and said Mom why did you have to go home, Now Tasha and Shawn have to leave, then She shut the door. I felt bad for her. She had already cried ealier, when we were picking up all of the toys in the play room. Then we said our goodbyes, packed up the truck, and headed towards Amarillo. In Oklahoma City, we got a phone call from Lori saying that Makenzie was having a hard time, and while she was playing Mario, she got to a stage where she couldn't remember what to do, so she just started crying, and Lori asked her what was wrong, and she said Tasha knows this and she would help me, but she isn't here to help me. So, I talked to her, and told her the shortcut and everything seemed to be okay again.
Anyway, it was a very fun and enjoyable weekend. I am glad that I went to see them for my birthday, even though my birthday isn't until Thursday.

Cute and funny moments on the trip: (not in any kind of order)

1) On the way to church we were listening to kids praise music and Miles starts moving all around in his car seat and saying and singing out Jesus, Jesus, Jesus............ ( you should hear him say it, it just makes you smile inside and out). I think it is very cool that Jesus was one of his first words.

2) Explaining to Matthew that it isn't Crack a Barrel, but Cracker Barrel.

3) Listening to Matthew and Makenzie at the mall when they we told that they couldn't go make a bear at build a bear. It got old after a while, but the things they were saying were funny. Makenzie, mom you just don't want us to have any fun do you. We never have fun all we do is go where you go and do what you do, we never get to have any fun. Matthew went on about not being able to go to the candy store. Then I asked Makenzie why she was being grouchy and she said because I am hungry. Lori and I laughed about it later.

4) Miles saying my name. That was cute!!

5) Doing the art activity books with the kids. They are really good artists.

6) The scenerios Matthew came up while having to play barbies. He added all of his rescue heros and came up with several scenerios like Barbie's house caught on fire and the rescue heros had to come in and save the day. Then her house flooded, there was a robber and any other disaster you could think of.

7) Shawn talking about the car show and how in his dreams the cars he would buy.

8) Makenzie and I freaking out about all the birds that were squaking and flying over us.

9) All of us realizing that the huge turtles that we thought were fake, were real. And seeing a snake over us on a tree branch in the reptile exhibit.

10) Matthew and Makenzies' faces Saturday morning when they awoke to find that Shawn and I had came for a visit.

Doing the right thing

With a 100% vote, everyone said that they would: take the bag of money home, call the cops, and hope for a nice reward. You all are very nice people. Now what are you going to do about Dinner with the President?

And the Favorite Season is........

Winning with 33% of the votes is Summer/Spring seems to be favorite time of year for most. Summer, Spring, and Summer/Fall came in with 17% and finally Winter and Fall came in with 8% of the vote.

First day of Spring Semester so far....

So far it has been great and refreshing to be learning something new. LOL I haven't really learned anything yet today except the bad thing about not having classes at 8:00 in the morning is that when you get here at 10:15 all of the good parking spots are gone and you have to park in the parking lot next to Walmart and walk. Okay, So..... I need the exercise. No, this does not mean that I am going to be here at 8 to get a parking spot. I would rather walk and be able to sleep in for a couple of hours and enjoy my mornings then be at WT at 8:00 in the morning. My 11:00 class was out by 11:20. All he did was pass out the syllabus and go over it and we were dismissed. I wonder if my science teacher will do the same thing this afternoon. Wouldn't that be great. If not I hope they are at least interesting so I am not sitting in a bored class watching the hour and fifty minute class drag by.
Shawn and I looked at the weather for Kansas lastnight and so far it looks good. It is suppose to be very cold, but clear. The clear part was the only thing I really cared about. I can't wait to leave, tomorrow is probably going to drag by until Shawn gets off of work.
Well the good news about tomorrow is that it is Friday, that is right only one more day till PayDay Friday ( well at least for us) and if not for you it's Still Friday and that means the weekend is here and for some it is a three day weekend. I hope everyone enjoys it! That's all for now.
Oh one more thing, I deleted my poll plans because I decided, I will just put up and take down polls when ever I feel like it :)

Last day off

Today is the last day I have off to relax until the spring semester starts. I am much more excited now about school, since I have talked to my new advisor and changed some of my classes around. I don't think my old advisor was that interested in me or really cared about what I took. Come to find out, I have been taking classes that I really did not need. That really made me mad. However, that all changed when I asked for a new advisor and went in and talked to her this morning. Now I am feeling more confident about this semester. Shawn passed the physical part of his test yesterday afternoon. He did 10 pushups in a minute, 26 (I think) sit ups in a minute, and he ran a mile under 12 minutes. I think they earned 60 points for each one they completed and in order to pass you had to atleast get 120 points, but you still had to do all three or something like that. If you are confused ask Shawn.
I can't wait until Friday night. When I get to see Ken and Lori. I think Lori is going to wait and not tell the kids that way she can get them into bed, since we will not be arriving until after midnight. I can't wait to see their faces. I just really hope the weather is not too bad on the drive up, especially since we are driving at night. So keep Shawn and I in your prayers this weekend, please.
I hope everyone's week is going good so far. Hey for most people this upcoming weekend is a 3 day one. So only 3 more days till Friday if you don't count today! :)

Accomplishment, Not an Accomplishment

Have you ever had one of those days, where you have in mind everything you want to get done, but all of that doesn't exactly get done. Well today was one of those days. I went to help clean and I spent most of the day cleaning off a table, literally 5 1/2 hours. Shawn say's that it is a big accomplishment to see the table top for the first time in a few years. I don't know I guess I didn't think it would take that long. So I am happy that we got it done, but yet I am dissappointed because it doesn't feel like I accomplished a whole lot. I didn't realize how much work it was going to take and I am worn out. I think I am going to go to bed after I finish this post. Which is very unusual because I am hardly in bed by 8:30 on a Saturday night or any other night of the week. Well I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. Maybe, I will see it more as an accomplishment tomorrow, right now I am just kind of dissappointed, but it is hard to explain why. I am getting really excited about next weekend. I can't wait to see Ken and Lori and the kids. I sure do miss them a lot!! I just hope the weather is good next weekend so it won't take even longer to go visit them.

Shawn went tonight to a seminar at the TDCJ which is Texas Department of Criminal Justice for those of you that do not know. Anyways, when he got home tonight he did nothing but talk non stop about it, so I take it that he is really excited and wants to become a correctional officer. They also told him that it will look really good on his resume when he applies to the police academy. I am happy for him. It does look promising the amount of people they are looking to hire tonight were not there. Shawn said that they want to get everyone in by the middle of February if not before. He goes for his physical test Monday afternoon and for the multiple choice test Wednesday morning. I am glad that he is excited. I am glad one of us is excited. I am not all that excited about going back to school. For some reason I am always ready to go back in the fall, but I hate going back for the spring semester. Anyway, today I came across somethings that made me laugh and smile and thought I should post a few. Enjoy reading them and don't forget to vote on my poll. Sorry I am just proud of myself for figuring out how to do that and the tag board. I hope everyone is having a great week if not just look at the positive side of things tomorrow is Friday.

A minister told his congregation, "Next week I plan to preach about the sin of lying. To help you understand my sermon, I want you all to read Mark 17."
The following Sunday, as he prepared to deliver his sermon, the minister asked for a show of hands. He wanted to know how many had read Mark 17. Several hands went up. The minister smiled and said, "Mark has only sixteen chapters. I will now proceed with my sermon on the sin of lying."

This is one of my favorites: A kindergarten teacher was observing here classroom of children while they were drawing. She would occasionally walk around to see each child's work. As she got to one little girl who was working diligently, she asked what the drawing was. The girl replied "I'm drawing God." The teacher paused and said, "But no one knows what God looks like. Without missing a beat, or looking up from her drawing, the girl replied, "They will in a minute."

This one made me laugh so hard that I nearly fell out of my chair: A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales. The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because, even thought it was a very large mammal, its throat was very small. The little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale. Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human; it was physically impossible. The little girl said, "When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah". The teacher asked, "What if Jonah went to hell?" The little girl replied, "Then you ask him".

This one is also cute: A Sunday School teacher was discussing the Ten Commandments with her five and six year olds. After explaining the commandment to "honor" thy Father and thy Mother, she asked, "Is there a commandment that teaches us how to treat our brothers and sisters?". Without missing a beat, one little boy (the oldest of a family) answered, "Though shall not kill."

This one is also one of my favorites even though it is super long.
EXPLAIN GOD is by an eight year old boy.
One of God's main jobs is making people. He makes them to replace the ones that die, so there will be enough people to take care of things on earth. He doesn't make grown-ups, just babies. I think because they are smaller and easier to make. That way He doesn't have to take up His valuable time teaching them to talk and walk. He can just leaves that to mothers and fathers.
God's second most important job is listening to prayers. An awful lot of this goes on, since some people, like preachers and things, pray at times beside bedtime. God doesn't have time to listen to the radio or TV because of this.
God sees everything and hears everything and is everywhere which keeps Him pretty busy. So you shouldn't go wasting His time by going over your Mom and Dad's head asking for something they said you couldn't have.
Atheists are people who don't believe in God. I don't think there are any in Chula Vista. At least there aren't any who come to our church.
Jesus is God's Son. He used to do all the hard work like walking on water and performing miracles and people finally got tired of Him preaching to them and they crucified Him. But He was good and kind, like His Father and He told His Father that they didn't know what they were doing and to forgive them and God said "O.K."
His Dad (God) appreciated everything that He had done and all His hard work on earth so He told Him He didn't have to go out on the road anymore. He could stay in heaven. So He did. And now He helps His Dad out by listening to prayers and seeing things which are important for God to take care of and which ones He can take care of Himself without having to bother God. Like a secretary, only more important. You can pray anytime you want and they are sure to help you because they got it worked out so one of them is on duty all the time.
You should always go to church on Sunday because it makes God happy, and if there's anybody you want to make happy, it's God. Don't skip church to do something you think will be more fun like going to the beach. This is wrong. And besides the sun doesn't come out at the beach until noon anyway.
If you don't believe in God, besides being an atheist, you will be very lonely, because your parents can't go everywhere with you, like to camp, but God can. It is good to know He's around you when you're scared in the dark or when you can't swim and you get thrown into real deep water by big kids.
But...you shouldn't just always think of what God can do for you. I figure God put me here and He can take me back anytime He pleases. And...that's why I believe in God.

When You Worry

Lately, I have been really worried and am starting to get stressed out with the move out of the apartment and in to a house or so we hope. I knew I wouldn't be living in this apartment forever, but it is going to be strange moving out next month. But anyhow, I came across this thing on the internet today, after talking about everything I was worried about, and I thought WOW, God is awesome. It is amazing how he shows and tells you things in the littlest ways, but what a big difference it makes on your life and on your mood at the time. Anyhow, I thought I would post it, because it lifted my mood and spirits.

When You Worry
Author unknown
When you worry about money, you're telling Him that He is unable to provide for His children. That although He has riches beyond belief in Heaven, He is too stingy to share them with you.
When you worry that no one understands you, you're telling Him that although He has been with you since before you were formed in the womb and has carved you into the palm of His hand, He doesn't know you.
When you worry that you will not have enough food, you're telling Him that although He rained down bread from Heaven in the desert to feed His children, you are the one He's forgotten.
When you worry that your enemies will have victory over you, you're telling God that, although He has given you spiritual battle gear to defend yourself, that despite His track record of being a giant slayer, Red Sea divider, lion mouth closer and a furnace cooler, He can't handle your co-worker, your neighbor, or a former friend.
When you worry that you won't be able to do enough to earn forgiveness, you're telling Him that's okay Lord, no need for Your Son to die, I can earn my own forgiveness. Let's just act like Jesus never died, tell Him never mind He doesn't need to go to the cross.
When you worry that no one will love you, that you'll be lonely for the rest of your life, you're telling Him that His love is insufficient. That He couldn't possibly love you enough to ward away loneliness. You're saying that although He has promised life more abundantly, He was lying. That despite the fact that He started off saying that it is not good that we be alone, He's changed His mind.
When you worry and refuse to give the problem over to Him, you're telling Him that, although He could create the world, He can't handle what's going on in your world, so you will. You are saying that He won't work things out, that obstacles cannot be overcome, that mountains can't be climbed, that healing cannot occur, that what is lost will not be found, that joy does not come in the morning, that He is not the God of a second chance, that the Promised Land has been swallowed up by the desert, that you have discovered the height, depth and width of His love and found it to fall short of your needs.
Think about all what you're saying to the one who loves you the most and who has all power, really think about it. Then open your hands and release what you've been holding onto. Bow down on your knees and ask Him to forgive you for doubting Him. Walk away with a peaceful heart and note the footsteps that go before you to make the crooked places straight, a way in the wilderness and water spring forth in the desert.

"Do not fear, for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10

Happy New Year

Happy 2005 Everyone. Tonight was a really nice and fun night. Shawn and I had people over at our apartment and we had a blast. We sang on my little sister's Karaoke machine and we played all kinds of games. It was so much fun to bring in the New Year with friends. It was also nice to get phone calls from Shawn's parents and his sister Britt wishing us a Happy New Year. Well I don't know about ya'll but I am really tired now. Hope you all had a fun and safe time bringing in the New Year. Once again Happy New Year.
