Too fast

This weekend flew by. Yesterday when we were arriving to town it seemed as if we just left. Surprisingly no one was sunburned! We set up camp Friday afternoon, headed to walmart for groceries and ice, got back, changed into our suits, and into the lake we went. (All of the bins made it in the tent) Friday night/early Saturday morning we had horrible thunderstorms. We know that lightning hit the ground somewhere it shook the ground and then there was a big boom that hurt both mine and Shawn's ears. Megs kept snoozing right through it. I have no idea how she did it!

Saturday, we played volleyball, swam, ate, read (okay I read), and played cards. Minnie loved the water the only problem was is she really didn't know how to use her back legs to swim. It was funny, she was fine until we went out were she couldn't touch so she would stand up on her hind legs and doggy paddle with her front legs. We taught her how to swim, and she would do great going from the deep towards the shore, but it was like she forgot when it was the other way around. We took a tie down and tied her to a tree to where she could play in the water or sit on the beach. That way we could go swim in a deeper area and not worry about her. You know what she did the whole time... if you have met her then you can guess... She whined and yelped the whole time she was on that thing. Eventually she broke a branch. So we found a new tree. Meghan got video of her. Not sure if I loaded it right...

Saturday night we went to a town that was 10 minutes away and watched fireworks.

Sunday we swam, packed up, and headed home.

Oh this guy, okay log(s) was right behind our campsite.
Isn't it cool looking... Megs & I named him Mr. Toad... just because we are corny like that :)

There were hundreds okay maybe even thousands of tiny frogs or toads (not sure which), every where you walked... I zoomed in and got a few in this picture. Megs caught them... she even kissed one and no it did not turn into a prince!

We never saw any bigger than the ones in the first picture.

And this is how Shawn and I found Megs several times.
In case, you can't tell she is searching for signal to send a text message. She is also standing on top of the picnic table.

Busy Busy...

So if you read my Friday Fill-in post you would see that on Saturday I wanted to sleep in and get some cleaning done. Well that didn’t happen. I ended up watching a 3 mo and an 18 mo from 6:30am - 4:30pm. When Shawn got home, I told him about my plans of going to his grandparents and then afterwards him taking me to my parent’s house to stay the night with my sis (they are in Houston this week), and then Sunday when he got off work, I would just meet him at his grandparent’s house. He said that was fine.

There was a family reunion on Saturday and then Sunday there was a big lunch at his grandparents. I got over there about 3:30 and the house was full of people and then I was told by Shawn’s aunt that there were actually more there earlier. I was glad I waited and went over later that afternoon. I woke up with headache and it didn’t go away until 8 something last night when it started raining. Hopefully next year Shawn will be off for it. The last two years he had to work and next summer he will be on nights so it will be hard to see anyone at all if he does have to work. Besides, the headache yesterday it was a great weekend.

Shawn, Megs, Minnie Moo, and I are all going camping this weekend. I can’t wait! Friday might be a little rough on Shawn. He is working nights (Wed. & Thurs.)  this week so two guys on nights could take vacation at the same time. We are hoping to get out of town by 11 am on Friday. We haven’t taken the dogs with us and thought we would see what it is like with miss hyper Minnie before we try taking both of them. Minnie loves water and Copper hates it so I am not sure he would actually enjoy going to the lake. BTW, who ever heard of a lab that hates water? Hope you all have a great week!

One more thing…. HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY JAKOB! WE LOVE YOU!!!

Do you ever...

Know God is telling you to do something, but you don’t like what He is saying? Ha that has been me for the last two to three weeks ago. It all started when my mom and I were having a conversation family. Several times in my life I have been told that I forgive and trust too easy. There are a few relationships that I have had with people that were a constant up and down. I finally had enough that I said I am forgiving, but I done trying, if I see them, I see them, we can be civil, and life goes on. It has been like that since about the end of January.

For the past two weeks, God has been telling me to try again. I argued back with all sorts of WHYS?!? And are you crazy? Along with a whole list of excuses of how it would never work and I have tried and tried… (I know. What was I thinking?). Then last night I was cleaning up the living room and out of one of my books fell out a note card with the following written on it, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your path straight.” Proverbs 3: 5-6

I went to my room and just started crying and praying and telling God that okay, I trust you. A sense of relief and peace just came over me. I slept like a baby last night for the first time in weeks! I don’t know what I was thinking trying to argue with Him.

So if you would pray for me that I can continue to walk in His path and trust Him on this, because this isn’t going to be easy for me. But I think I made my second step today!

Quite a scare....

So Shawn has been after me for months now to get the digital scrapbook kits along with other files either burned to a cd or put on a USB drive or both I just haven’t gone and purchased a USB that will hold everything. I think putting all the digi scrap stuff on CD’s will drive me crazy when I am wanting to use a several different kits/elements... Last night I tripped a breaker and called Shawn out of bed to fix it. Well he reset the wrong one (he was half asleep; I had to remind him several times why he was up and what he was doing). When he did that it turned the computer off no big deal. Well this morning it wasn’t loading for us at all. Finally not even sure what Shawn did, but he got it to load. So I know what I will be doing this up coming weekend.

Outnumbered 4 to 1 said... I cried my eyes out” – I did the same thing!!!!

Making some changes again! J

Random...scattered post...

I just realized I haven’t updated in a while. There really hasn’t been much going on other than Shawn working and me watching kids. We went to the Drive In Saturday night and saw Indiana Jones and the new Narnia. I liked both of them. It was almost 3:30 when we got home. Shawn worked some shifts for click it or ticket it. Yesterday was the last day for the campaign. Shawn is working the ending survey on Thursday. Last week they put it in the local paper that the city was participating in Click it or Ticket it, so the number of citations written went down for 2 days, but Shawn said this weekend they spiked back up. By the way incase you didn’t know…you can get a ticket for putting the shoulder strap behind you (you are improperly wearing it). Shawn and a few other officers got yelled at by people when they were giving them citations for improperly wearing them. Here is something I found hilarious… Shawn wrote a person one day, then a few days later, he was pulling them over again…not realizing it was previous person. Why do I laugh… because you would think after getting a 150 dollar plus ticket once you would make sure and double check that you were wearing your seatbelt … okay at least I would!!!! I just don’t understand people who don’t wear seatbelts or buckle up their kids. I honestly think that my seatbelt helped save my life when Shawn and I were hit by that drunk driver.
........................................................................................................

Hmm…sorry trying to think if there is anything else to write about….
How about the weather? The temperature today was above a 100. The high for tomorrow is 98; I think it will reach over a 100 again. The kids are bringing clothes to play in the water tomorrow. We will probably play outside before lunch time.

Latest news? Shawn’s
parents are now living in Texas. They are umm…I think 6 to 7 hours away from us (depends on whose driving). A week ago at the library I got the first book in a series called Men of the Saddle by Lori Copeland…Shawn went and checked out the last book (number 4) in the series for me tonight. I don’t think I had ever heard of her before or read one of her books before this series, but I have added her to my list of favorite authors. Hmm…maybe the next time I don’t have much to post on I can do a post over favorite authors and books.
Other than reading I have been digi scrapping....well sort of. My 2nd bedroom also known as the middle bedroom is decorated with some of my old frog stuff from middle/ high school and college, along with Disney and princess stuff. It is also more or less a play room for the kids. I came up with the idea of making an 8x10 page of each niece and nephew and then framing and hanging them up in that room. That way the walls won't seem so bare. I just finished those up tonight. I had 3 of our nephews done, but then I came across a kit that was fit perfect with the room so I redid them. I finished them up tonight. For the boys I used
Stealing Prince Charming by Traci Reed and for the girls I used one of my favorite kits from Shabby Princess called Bella and I got the crown from an embellishment kit called Shabby Scratches. I for the most part like the way they turned out. I might do a few tweaks before I send them in to be printed out.

Has anyone ever used Shutterfly to order a photo book? If you have, please leave a comment or email me your review on it. I have been eyeing it for almost a week now, I just don’t want to spend the money and it turn out not being what I wanted. Cost wise, it does seem cheaper when you add up printing out 20 plus 8x8 or 12x12 pages and then buying an album to put them in.

Anyway it’s late, my brain is jumping all around, and I have kids arriving at 4:30, 6:00, & 7:30 so I am off to bed!
