Please pray for all of the victims affected by Katrina, but with those victims can you also pray for my grandma, uncle, and cousins who were also affected by this event. My Aunt has done a really good job with updating on her site. Just click on the link Trunnell's to find out more info. The other one is my friend Autumn's baby Reagan is in the hospital with a uti infection and due to even more complications we are unsure when Reagan will be leaving and she will possibly be needing surgery in the next few weeks.
Thanks,

Update: 10:24 am
Since this post was so short I decided to add to it. Surprisingly I do not have math homework tonight :). I just added a new class to my schedule tomorrow. I didn't realize that I could take it, until yesterday. I thought I had to be further along, but then I was told a way to by pass that. So now I am also taking Theories of Multiple Disabilities T TH from 9:30 to 10:45. It is in the same class and same teacher as my other special education class. Now I am off to the book store to go get the books for that class! I am so greatful for ACE if not I would have had to come up with 500.00 for books this semester and money for 2 calculators. Well thats all for now.

What A Day
Today was a pretty good day, I am just exhausted and I have a headache. For some reason these last couple of weeks, I have been getting a headache around 5 and 6:00. I have no idea why tyllenol, alieve, and advil are not even helping. My first day at work was filled with filling out lots of paper work. If I didn't know how to initial or sign my name before today, I do now! The kids were great. Some of them were already trying to scheme on me. I guess they think because I am new, that I don't know all of their rules. I found out, I am actually taking a guy I went to school with's position. He is leaving to go do an internship. Anyway, the other staff members told me that today was about the craziest that it would get since we were shorthanded by 2 other staff members. For the first part of the afternoon, I helped all of the kids with homework. Then the second half I was in the computer room helping kids with games and getting on and off the internet. 3 to 6:30 flew by really fast.
I don't know if I told you or not, but Shawn has his interview with the police academy on Sept. 1 st. So please being praying and thinking about him. Well now it is off to read chapter one of my chemistry book. I got some tips from a friend in my class today. She pretty much told me to read and take my own notes from the chapters in the book. She also told me that Dr. K was just begining that gets worse. All I said was O great! Lucky me! but I know I can get through it! Then it is on to biology and then earth science and then I will be done with all of the sciences.

"Why Not Her?"

Key Verse:
I Corinthians 12:24-25, "? But God has combined the members of the body and has given greater honor to the parts that lacked it, so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other." (NIV)
Devotion:Do you ever wish more people were like you? Be honest. Have you ever wondered why no one seems to work as hard as you do, or gives as much to charity, or remembers birthdays like you do? Isn't everyone supposed to do what you do? Actually ? no.
God designed us delightfully different. Scripture tells us that in addition to being uniquely created, we are each given different spiritual "gifts" through the Holy Spirit. These gifts take the form of special abilities, such as healing, prophesying, teaching and administration, to name a few. (See 1 Corinthians 12 and Romans 12 for more examples.)
Normally, when we receive a gift, it is for us to use and enjoy. But spiritual gifts are given to benefit others. First Corinthians 12:7 tells us, "Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good." In essence, we are to give away these gifts from God.
What wonderful things spiritual gifts are - until our sinful nature gets in the way. Two negative things can happen regarding spiritual gifts: 1) We want the gift that others have, or 2) We expect others to have our gifts, and do what we do. When they don't, we get annoyed. Rick Warren, in The Purpose Driven Life, calls this "gift projection." Gift projection can be the source of much unhappiness and division between friends.
For example, let's say your gift is hospitality. You invite a friend to your home for lunch and you go the extra mile to clean your house, make something special for her to eat, and buy fresh flowers. You spend hours preparing for her visit and you have a wonderful time. At the end of the lunch, she reciprocates and invites you to her house.
When you go to her house, you get a store-bought cookie, a can of soda, and she hastily stacks the newspapers on the floor so you can sit on the couch. Not exactly the reception you were expecting after all the work you did. But as you sit down to talk, it's obvious you are her top priority. Her gift of mercy overflows as she listens to your problems and responds with wisdom and compassion.
What's your reaction?
As we consider our spiritual gifts and those of our friends, we should cultivate a heart of appreciation for the differences. God designed those differences so all the needs of His believers would be met. Guard against resentment forming in your heart, and thank God that He gave your friend a different spiritual gift - one designed to benefit YOU.
My Prayer for Today:Heavenly Father, thank You for giving us spiritual gifts. I thank You that You care for my needs and have gifted someone else to help me. Help me to look at others differently and appreciate their unique spiritual gifts. Please forgive me when I have been envious or resentful about my spiritual gift or others'. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
Application Steps:Identify a spiritual gift you have. Identify a friend with a gift that seems opposite of yours. Commit to praying for your friend and the development of her spiritual gift.

First Day of Class
I have to say this has to be the weirdest first day of classes I have ever had. At 9:00 I had my fundamentals of Math II class. First of the teacher was 20 minutes late, something about forgetting to take her daughter to the baby sitters house. I guess she drove from Hereford to canyon and got to WT and realized she forgot to drop her daughter off at her mom's house? She talked really really fast and then would take a deep breath and go on about whatever and then take another big breath and continue on and this went on for the remaining of the class. So I thought she was a little weird. Only I didn't really know what the weirdest of weirdness could be until I walked in to my chemistry class. Okay I have been in college for 3 years now, so far before this class have I have not attended a class where there has been a seating chart. I felt like I was in elementary school. This lady had made name cards for everyone. She folded card stock paper and wrote every ones first and last names on both sides of the paper. She first began class in this high pitched GOOD MORNING boys and girls, well since it is 11:00 I should say Good Afternoon boys and girls. The girl next to me mumbles you have got to be kidding me. That is what I was thinking! Then she begins by saying that each name card has a sticker on the side that is facing the front of the class. All of the nursing majors have a grape sticker. So she tells the nursing majors to scratch and then sniff their stickers on the count of three. Well this girl up at the front of the class did not participate with them so she called her up to the front of the class and made her stand in front of the class and scratch and sniff her grape sticker. So then this goes on with the education majors we had strawberry stickers and all other majors had orange stickers. While all this is going on keep in mind a high pitched voice that keeps going up and down. I think it sounded like a 12 or 13 year old boy going through puberty. Get my point? Imagining it! I am still sitting in my chair thinking oh my gosh this is crazy and is she seriously the only one that teaches this class! Then she starts going over the syllabus in the middle of that she starts on chapter one so I am sitting there taking notes about ions and electrons and whatever else she is talking about then she switches back to the syllabus. It is not like she says okay class lets go back to the syllabus nope she just stops in the middle of her sentence about compounds and starts talking about attendance in class and how many tests we will have. Then all of the sudden we are going over safety rules then it is back to the lecture then all of the sudden she says oh class if you ever catch yourself on fire drop and roll and while you are rolling I will run back here to this closet like this ( yes she did run from the front of the room to the back) takes the box with the fire blanket and says I will take this blanket out of the box and wrap it around you. Now this is not a blanket you would want to curl up with it is not soft and she goes on for a good 15 minutes about the stupid fire blanket. Then it is back to the lecture! You are probably thinking that she is a young teacher nope she is in her 50's! Now here is another really cheesy thing about this class if you are in to chemistry you may think it is the coolest thing ever, however I do not! On the inside of our name cards is taped this lightbulb piece of paper with our last name on that. She told us to take that off and look at the back and that would be our secret name and when she posts grades that will be the name she post by. I can't even pronounce mine it is some element name. Then we go back to the lecture and she all of the sudden says Chlorine what is an ionic bond or something like that. So we all start looking around and finally I guess Stephanie realized she was talking to her and answered her. So yes, she will refer to you by your secret name? So how is it a secret! Anyways welcome to my day!
Anyway, on a good note, I start work tomorrow after school :)! I can't wait! I also have my fun class tomorrow well I don't know about fun yet, but it will be an interesting class, Mental Retardation. It is actually something that I have interest in. I am trying to have a postive attitude about this whole chemistry thing, but when she talks to the class like we are in first grade and she is so spastic it is hard to know what is going on and what she is talking about.
Shawn should hear something from Home Depot today or tomorrow. So far today he has heard nothing. Oh ya Meghan's birthday party on Saturday was fun. She is now dating I guess you could call it. I will tell her to update on her blog so I don't spill too many beans! I still can't believe she is 16! Well I think I am going to go take some asprin and lay down. I don't know if my eye rolling and oh my gosh and you have got to be kidding me expressions gave me a head ache. I really tried not to, but it was just weird and crazy. One thing I do know is that you can not zone out in her class for a second otherwise you will be lost! Which is hard to do, when you just want to block the annoying voice out. Okay I will stop complaining because I have until december to put up with this, just forwarning you will most likely hear about it also.

Even more great news
Shawn passed the written part of the test. He did a whole lot better than he did last time. I guess it is on to the police academy in October! Not much else to really update on. If I start work tomorrow, I will let you all know how it went!

Great News!!
I got the job at Buckners!!! Depending on paper work, I could start as early as this Thursday! If not I will be starting next week! One awesome thing about it is, that I figured the pay would be around mininum wage if not a little bit more, but I was wrong! I am going to make a little more than what I was making at AIG, except I will not have to put up with certain things. I know every job has it's problems and complaints but I don't think anything could be as bad as my last year was there. I am so happy. I am trying to keep myself from bouncing off the walls! :) Well just thought I would let you know. Kind of weird how the last two days have been. Trust me though I don't mind it at all! I would love to have a week of nothing but good news. God is sooo great!

Kind of Cool News
Shawn went to go take his placement test yesterday afternoon. He did really well on it for the most part. He found out that he can go straight in to the police academy if he can score a point higher than what he did score on the writting part of the test. He will be retaking it tomorrow. So keep him in your prayers please. :) We also found out that he can be done and out of the police academy 36 weeks or somewhere close to. If you ask me retaking one test is a lot better than a year and 1/2 of basics and then the police academy. Saves us time and money. I think after he passes, he is suppose to have an interview with the criminal justice department. The lady on the phone yesterday told him that would not be a problem. They just go over your past history and ask the usual questions or at least that is pretty much what she told him. And if everything goes well with that, he will be starting in October. Pretty AWESOME if you ask me!! However, I do know that the next 6 or more months will also be a trying time. Shawn will be going to school 8-5 and working an evening job. So that doesn't leave much time for us, but I know with God's help we can get through all of it, but as for now I am just happy that it is shorter than we thought! WOOHOO! Well I need to go get ready, so I can go get my books for school.

So hmm...
As normal there isn't a whole bunch going on today. Shawn is in the living room snoozing while the race is on. I think we are going to my parents for dinner tonight. This rainy cloudy weather is making me really sleepy. I would love to go take a nap, but I don't think I would be able to go to sleep when I need to. I should find out about Buckners tomorrow sometime! Tuesday morning, I am planning on going with Emily to Canyon to get our books for school. I am glad school starts Next Monday. Before I know it will be here! The chart I added today, was in an email I recieved from a friend. I thought it was really cool. So for the last 30 min I learned how to make an html table and created that. I think I did a great job. Well the computer is running slow, so I need to restart!

Don't you hate it when,
The sun is shinning brightly outside and the day looks beautiful, but yet you feel so crummy. That is me today. But on a good note, I am glad that it is Friday! The city is working on the water main or something like that, so yesterday from 8 am to 10pm we were not suppose to use our water. Well it was a little after 10 and I decided to start on the dishes. I turned on the water and sputtered for few seconds and then water started coming out. There was not a whole lot of pressure to it. Shawn went to go use the bathroom and he flushed the toliet while I was rinsing a cup and guess what, the water suddenly stopped for a couple of seconds and then it came back. We are not suppose to use our water again today until after 5. Hopefully we will have better water pressure, if not I will be going back to my mom and dad's house to shower.
On to something else. Today on the news at noon, they were talking about this sex offenders website, so I just logged on to check it out. It is really neat. Right now it only consists of 37 states. Anyways what you do is type your address in to the search box. Then click go, it will find your location on a map and then if you have registered sex off. in your neighboorhood a red dot or dots will appear. Then you can click on the red dot to get a picture of the sex off. and their address. You can also click on their name and it will show you what the extent of their offense was. In the side bar there is a list of all the reg. sex off. in your zip code. It does take a while to load sometimes so you have to be patient. http://www.mapsexoffenders.com/
Happy Friday!

Hello! It looks like I will be getting the job at Buckners. I am so excited! I took my drug test today. They said they should get the results by Monday and give me a call, and if that checks out I will be starting sometime next week. I am really excited. I got to meet some of the younger kids today. I can't wait to start! Shawn is taking a test at AC on Monday ( I think) after his test is graded his advisor will help him get into the classes he needs to be in. Minnie is doing fine. We still think she is pregnant. Her stomach hasn't gotten that big, who knows maybe she isnt and she is going through a growth spurt. Somedays she looks like it big time and others she doesn't. She spends her afternoons in and out of her pools. Yesterday I looked out the window and she was jumping from one to another. Then she finally laid down in one. I will try and see if I can get a picture. The thing below is the devotion for today off of the Proverbs 31 Ministries website. They have some of the best daily devotions and the best part is that it is free. I thought today's was great.

"Changes"
Director of Development, Proverbs 31 Speaker Team Member
Devotion:
I was having a little pity party the other day. Every now and then a girl is allowed one, don't you think? In the past few months several of my favorite things have been closed or discontinued. Let me bend your ear: my foundation, my shampoo, my favorite Italian restaurant, my lotion and, most recently, my signature lipstick, Chocolate Mousse. Now that is enough to make any grown girl cry! But during my pity party God reminded me of something that has never, and will never, change - Him. Praise God and glory to the Father, that we can count on Him to be consistent. Let's take a look at His track record.
Our God is the same God who:
· created?everything
· closed the door on the ark for Noah
· stopped Abraham from killing Isaac
· parted the Red Sea and dried the path so His people wouldn't get mud between their toes
· wrote the 10 commandments with His finger
· lead the Israelites by day with a cloud and by night with fire
· made the walls fall down around Jericho
· closed the lions' mouths so Daniel would be saved
· cooled the furnace for Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego
· choose a shepherd boy to be a king
· knew you before you were in your mother's womb
· designed a plan for your life
· was conceived in the womb of virgin
· lived a sinless life
· carried a cross to Calvary for you and me
· conquered death and rose again
· left a Counselor to help us on this earth
· is preparing a place for His children
· is sitting at the right hand of God Almighty at this very moment· will come again when the archangel sounds the trumpet
Oh friend, is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob your God today? If not, pray to receive Him as your Savior. Confess your sins to Him now. He is Faithful and Just to forgive you. Confess that you need a Savior. Tell Him that you choose Him above all others. Through all of life's uncertainties, He is the one certain thing.
My Prayer for Today:
I come before You, blessing You this moment for Your consistent power, consistent behavior and Your constant love. I stand amazed at the thought that You, my God, are the same God who closed the door of the ark. Help me, oh Lord, to never forget the magnitude of who You are and the reality of what You can do. Thank You for never changing when everything around me does. In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen.
Application Steps:
Write down all of the blessings in your life. Praise Him for those blessings. Write down the current struggles in your life. Praise Him for those struggles. Write down three things from the list of Who God Is. Praise Him for being Who He Is!!
Going Deeper
Reflection Points:
How do I handle changes?
What can I do to handle change better?
Can others notice a difference in me when something has changed in my life?
Do I praise God continually no matter what my circumstances may be?
Power Verses:
Joshua 3:5, "Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things among you." (NIV)
Joshua 1:5, "I will never leave you or forsake you." (NIV)
Psalm 63:3, "Because Your love is better than life my lips will glorify you." (NIV)
Zephaniah 3:17, "The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you. He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing." (NIV)

Okay first thing first! Which of the following rides would be your first choice? 38% said a raft down the Colordao River, 25% said a a carriage in Paris, 25% also said a hot air ballon in Switzerland, and the remaining 12% said a ferrari on the Autobahn. So what would be your second choice?
There really isn't anything new to report on. It rained a lot yesterday, which was really nice. I had an interview on Thursday with Buckners. It looks very promising. They are suppose to call me on tuesday if everything checks out! I don't see why it wouldn't check out. We don't have much planned for this weekend. I think tonight we are going to go to this young couples thing. I think it will be fun. Oh ya, speaking of that, I need to go to the store and get to baking. I told them I would bring dessert! Oh I know what I have been wanting to ask. Does anyone watch big brother? Just curious.

I can't believe it is already Wednesday! CRAZY-AZY! This week is going by fast. Shawn and I got to visit with Lori, Makenzie, Matthew, and Miles lastnight. I wish they could have stayed longer, but they have to be back by tomorrow to register for school. I couldn't believe how much they have grown. There really isn't anything super interesting in my life right now. I am getting ready to go back to school on the 29th. I am partly excited but at the same time I am not! I found out this morning due to some computer error that my class schedule was dropped with a few others yesterday. So I tried to get in to buff advisor only to find out I couldn't even log in to that. So then I had to get back offline and call the school back to get me logged back in to that, in order to try to get back in to some of my classes. I guess when that happened yesterday people late registering took my spot. So far I have been able to get back in to 4 of my 5 classes. I am waiting on consent of an instructor in order to get back in. I was really lucky with my chemistry class it only had 2 spots available in the class and one spot in the lab. I don't think I would have been horribly sad if I didn't make it back in to that one, but I wouldn't be to happy about having to be a semseter behind on my sciences. So see nothing too great and interesting going on in my life right now. I went and applied at a children's home today to work with older kids in the late afternoon and evenings. It is only a few blocks from our house which really works out great, so I am praying that I get it.

Mickey
Mickey passed away yesterday morning at 10:37. We hated to see him go, but I hated seeing him suffer so much yesterday morning and I know that he is not suffering anymore. I am also thankful that Meghan was there with me when it happened. I don't know what I would have done by myself. It was nice to have her shoulder to cry on while Shawn was driving the hour and 1/2 back to town. Minnie seems kind of lost with out him. Some of you may have heard about how Minnie always took Mickey's collars off. Well about a month ago we had bought a red collar for Mickey, put it on him, and sure enough the next day it was gone. Well most of the time we would find the collars in the yard. But this one we could never find. We asked the neighbors to check their yards but none of us could find it. Well shortly after Mickey passed I opened up the backdoor and their was his red collar. Then when Shawn got home and went out back, Minnie picked up the collar and greeted Shawn at the back door with it. We are thinking that she had buried it and dug it back up since there was a small hole in the middle of the yard. Just crazy-azy. It is definitely weird opening up the door and not being greeted by both of them. Thanks for everyone's prayers.

Please Pray
We found out on monday that our neighbor's 7 week old puppy just died of parvo. They went a head and tested their other two dogs and they came up negative. But yesterday Mickey started acting really weird and then this morning he wasn't eating or doing anything. He would just sit there, he wouldn't come running to us or anything. I ended up calling Shawn when I got home around 11 and he took Mickey to the vet. Mickey tested positive but it was very light so the vet said that he has a great chance to over come it. We have to give him 1/2 cup of pedilight every hour, the two medicines the doctor gave us, and to stop his diarrhea we have to give him 15 ml of kapectate and he can only have chicken broth to eat all of this for the next three days. Minnie so far is fine. So please pray for Mickey!
that's all for now!
oops a couple of quick notes: Don't forget to vote on the poll. And the running thing came from prevention magazine and I am very sore. Last night I made 6 reps before my knee started acting out and then I did a fast paced walk after that. Shawn did all of them and Lacy did about 7 or 8. Shawn and I are trying to think of a place to run this weekend, it is suppose to rain all weekend. Also next week is an increase in running time.

blah blah blah and poll results :)
There isn't really anything new to talk about. Life has been pretty much same o same o. It was nice this weekend, because for once in who knows how long Shawn was off call and never got called out on a call. Saturday we went to Josh's 2nd birthday party. Later that night, we went out and ate with Stephen, Emily, and Trae at Buns over Texas and then we went to there house where Shawn and Stephen played playstation. Sunday afternoon we went to Nanny's for lunch and then we came home did some laundry and watched tv. Sunday evening we went to Patty's house ate pizza and played pool with people from church. I didn't play any games, I was too buzy socializing. I know Shawn played several games and I believe he won most, but I couldn't tell you because I was to buzy socializing. This is my last week with the boys. Which is kind of sad, because that means school is in like 2 weeks. Shawn and I started this new running thing lastnight. It is an 8 week thing. I was tired afterwards, but at the same time I felt great. The only bad part is Shawn and I didn't go until like 9:00 so it got pretty dark outside and we had a hard time keeping up with time.
