hmmm tell me why

I am not all that excited about starting this job? I start Sunday at noon and work till 5. He wanted me to start Saturday but I told him I had a family reunion. Part of me is thinking about going to walmart and applying there, but I am not sure they are going to work around my school schedule. I really don't want to go back to working 30 hrs a week. Who knows guess I will never find out if I don't apply. Then I will probably feel bad about starting and leaving a job, if they offer me more money. Which most likely they will.

Tired....can't sleep.....why not update

Hmmm where to begin? I have the job at hastings I will start sometime at the end of this week or the beginning of next week. Lets go back to last thursday, we spent the day in Amarillo. Ended up going to lil Justin's tee ball game. That was fun. Although, I don't understand the whole not keeping score thing.... Anyway Meghan and her friend Amanda ended up staying the night with us and then going back down to atown, Friday afternoon. Shawn worked Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Saturday night we went to my mom's cook out thing. Meghan, her friend Regina, and Amanda came back up to stay the night. Amanda left early Sunday morning to go back to Amarillo. Shawn went to work. Sunday Afternoon, Meghan, Regina, and I went to Treasure Island in Sunray, which is this little water park for kids. I had fun. Monday morning I went to Hastings and filled out the rest of my paper work. Then Monday afternoon we went to my mom's house and ate ribs, then we went to the end of lil justin's birthday party, visited with family. Fun stuff! We ended up taking Josh with us. Meghan and her friend Regina are staying with us until Friday. I think Josh has had fun playing with all of us today and lastnight. We took him to treasure island today. When we first arrived we ate sandwhiches and let him play on the play ground for a while and then we went into the park. I thought it was going to take him to get in but as soon as he took off his shoes he went down this little whale slide. I think he had tons of fun. Once we took him down the big waterslide he kept wanting to go over and over again. I am a little sunburned, meghan's friend is really sunburned. I don't think she used any sunscreen.
We are taking him back to his parents tomorrow night when Shawn gets off work. I think tomorrow the plan is to go to the park, hopefully it isn't too muddy. Shawn recieved 2 summer passes to the pool here. I thought that was pretty cool. Anyways... oh ya before I forget.... I thought the season finale and what was suppose to be the series finale for Seventh Heaven was kind of cheesy and I was wondering what ya'll thought about a new season airing. I am not sooo sure about it.....

Well I am off to bed...maybe I can fall asleep between Shawn's snoaring and Josh's moving. I am surprised I don't have a black eye from Josh. :) That is what made me get up and update.

Job interview

So the interview was kind of weird, if you want details email me or something, but over all it was great, I pretty much have the job as long as my drug testing and background check come back okay. Which as far as I know they will! The pay is over minimum wage but lots lower than I have ever been paid, which is kind of weird for me, but it will still bring in more money than what we have now. I will be working 15 to 20 hrs a week, most likely 20 hrs, and that is perfect for school.
Okay now that I have told you about the interview let me tell you about the drug testing place I went to. It is north of our house like a mile out of town. Well Shawn was driving and we were driving along looking for this place and then their is a small sign on this towing company building that says CDT and I looked at Shawn and said is it really in that towing place he laughs and says probably. So we turn around and sure enough it is both a wrecker service and a drug testing place. It was all tiny and cramped and their were several people in there, some waiting on drug tests and others waiting on their vehicles. I don't know why but it disgusted me, besides the fact that I had to wash my hands infront of everyone before and after. I felt like I was the entertainment while washing my hands. About the only good thing was that I got to go before all the people waiting because I wasn't there for walmart. When we left, Shawn just said I am glad I got to take mine in Amarillo. Anyway, everyday I go out and about, I realize just how small this town is.

Hmmm about about literati at 7:00 pm tomorrow? If not literati what about dominoes? Shawn says dominoes. Shawn and I are going to a-town tomorrow morning so I can get a new SS card, so we should be back before 7. Just email me or something.......

not a very good start....

So this morning I was putting away dishes, when a glass fell and shattered. While picking up the pieces I cut my finger. Then a while later, when I was sweeping the kitchen floor, I some how cut my toe. And then to top it all off after I finished mopping I was walking back through to put the kitchen towels away and kabaam down I went on my bottom. So I guess today wasn’t the day to clean house? Anyways, I will take my chances for the rest of the day and keep on cleaning. Shawn and I have been working out at the Y everyday this week. Yesterday I decided I would try out this cardio aerobic 35 min work out on the treadmill. Well I was messing around with the levels at the beginning because I felt like I wasn’t getting a work out. Well about ¾ of the way through I thought I was going to die, Shawn came over to talk to me and he said maybe it is because you are on an incline. So I looked at the incline level and it was the highest the machine could go. So I decreased the incline thing and finished it out. So I guess level 10 wasn’t my level. My legs felt like water for a while though, but I just worked on an abs machine, and then did some leg machines. Today it is back to arms! Well hope you all are having a great week!

Last night alone

for a while at least! Today Shawn and I went to Amarillo to spend mother's day with my mom. It was a nice day, but weird with out Meghan there. We ate a delicous late lunch and got to I spend time with my mom. I know 45 minutes isn't that far away, but sometimes it feels like forever away. I was going to spend the weekend there, but my allergies got to me so bad on Friday that I ended up taking a benadryl and going to bed for the night. Saturday I felt a little bit better, but decided not to go. I was actually surprised when Shawn got up and wanted to go with me today. I figured since he was going on his third night in a row that he would sleep most of the day, instead he slept on the way there and on the way back. I imagine he will sleep a lot tomorrow. I hope everyone had a nice mother's day! I don't really have anything else to post, I am just excited that Shawn goes to days on Wednesday!!!! My goal for this week is to have all of the boxes unpacked there are only about 10 more if not less. Hopefully the landlord will have the paint for the middle bedroom, so we can get started on that. Anyways, I will try to post some pictures on here this week. Well I am off to watch extreme makeover home edition, desperate housewives, and the first part of grey's anatomy. I hate watching them on real time because you can't fast forward through the commercials. :)

10 things about Minnie

So as of Tuesday I am done with Spring Semester 06. Now I can really start unpacking boxes, I say that but have I touched one box today? Nope, but I did work in the backyard a little bit. I wanted to post, so I decided to post about Minnie's activities lately besides her annoying whines. Ask anyone that has been around her whining, some didn't know a dog could whine that much.

1. She now just gets up and roams around the house in to different rooms, yes I know there is a lot more room in this house than the other house.
2. When she is another part of the house and she hears you go to the bathroom or start doing something in the kitchen she is right there in a matter of seconds.
3. If one of us is in our room watching tv and the other one is in a different part of the house, the bedroom door can not be shut. For example, I was in bed reading this morning Shawn was playing some game on the computer so I shut the door so I could read without the annoying sound of the game he was playing. Every time I shut or tried to shut the door Minnie would push open the door if it was slightly cracked. Or she would BARK yes not whine but BARK until I open the door.
4. She also thinks the bed in the 2nd bedroom is hers, we constantly have to go get her off of it, we try to remember to keep the door shut.
5. She has once again mastered herself out of another backyard. So now she has three, except I think we solved the problem out at Nanny's.
6. She does not like it when Shawn is getting ready for work or is already in his uniform. She just whines the whole entire time from him getting ready to him leaving! Then when he arrives for lunch she whines!
7. She will get up and sit on a kitchen chair while you are sweeping or vacuuming? Why she just doesn't go off into another room I will never know? it is also funny to watch her try to get into the chair if it is still pushed in at the table.
8. Today, she was sniffing and trying to eat these mushroom things that were growing in the backyard. Luckily she spit it out. Then a commercial came on tv about talking to your kids about drugs and I heard Shawn talking to Minnie? At first I thought he was talking to me!
9. Like most dogs she loves to be petted on her belly and on her sides
10. Finally, she will come running or start whinning when she hears Shawn's truck. So at 6:10 am when he pulls in the drive way I am awaken with a very loud whine and if you open her cage door move out of the way fast!

Our first hail storm living here

Last night around 8:00 we got a thunderstorm with hail, these are the pictures Shawn took. His contribution to our blog :).




This would be the front yard kind of flooded with poring rain still coming down and has bunches of pea size hail.

This is of the left side of our backyard, which you can see has about zilch grass growing.

This is the right side of our backyard, in the picture it looks like there is hardly in grass, (well to me it does) but there is actually a lot of baby grass growing there. The bricks were stuck in the ground around the porch, I didn't like them so I pulled them up last week and that is where they are sitting at for now.

All moved in....

Well for the most part.....
There are still some boxes that need to be unpacked, but I figure I can do a box a day or something! Our satellite was installed on Saturday, the carpet on Monday, and our phone and DSL yesterday. We have been busy repairing things. Thanks to everyone that has helped us!
Today must be a lazy day, Shawn is taking his nap before he goes to work tonight and Minnie has been sleeping off and on. She got up long enough to tell me she needed outside to use the bathroom. I think the end of last week and the weekend was tough on her, she didn't know what was going on, but I think we are back to some kind of normalcy with her.
Shawn only has 7 more nights until he changes to days! I stayed Saturday and Sunday night by myself. It wasn't too bad, but it helped knowing that Shawn was patrolling in this neighborhood. The other day we were grocery shopping and we ran into one of the guys he has arrested, which was weird and kind of uncomfortable, but I have a feeling that living in a small town, this will happen a lot.
I don't have much else to say for now. I will post pictures soon!
