Busy Busy Busy Weekend

So I bet from the title you can tell that we had a busy weekend, but it was fun! I have been walking with my friend Kristen every night and we discovered that we have been walking 4.1 miles. I can tell too! So Friday night Minnie and Shawn joined us.
Saturday we slept in till about 9, got up, got ready, and headed to atown for Megs birthday! Spent the day with her and the rest of the family. Then later on we went to Lacy's apartment to see all of her new furniture and visit. I think we got home just before midnight.

Today we cleaned out closets! A lady called Thursday and asked if we had anything to donate and if we did just to put it on our door step Tuesday morning. So I told her yes, which gave me the motivation to clean out my closet and dresser drawers. Shawn cleaned up the kitchen and then I saw him in the other room cleaning out his closet. So we have 3 big bags setting by our front door. And I still have a closet full of clothes :). Tonight before we went walking I fixed 3 different meals and put them in the fridge. That way we just have to warm them up. Then Shawn and Minnie joined us for our walk again.

According to Sparkpeople I should be at my goal weight by Dec 10th! I can't wait! Well I better get to bed! I start school tomorrow and I have to kiddos arriving at 4:30am. I get to help them get ready for their first day back to school!

Have a great week!

I won! I won! I won!

The battle of the green beans! :) I forgot to buy corn last week at the grocery store so all I had in the house was green beans. None of the kids really like green beans so I told them I would add bacon bits to them. And that everyone would have the same amount including....Shawn! So he ate them and he said not to bad, but he probably wouldn't eat them again any time soon. Since Shawn and I have been together I haven't seen him eat one green bean until today!

Much better

I no longer want to cut my head off! :) It was gone by 6 yesterday.

The kids did pretty awesome. Only one of them go in trouble and that was spitting in his sister's lunch. I still have no idea why he did that. If it was so he could eat hers or what? She was pretty much done but was still sitting there taking a bite here and there. He asked her if she was going to eat the rest of her spaghetti and she told him she didn't know. I left the room to go answer the door. I walk back in to the kitchen see him getting into his chair and she is just looking at her plate crying. That's when I found out he had spit in her plate. The only thing I can think of is that he wanted 4th's and I had already told him no. This kid eats more than Shawn. If he even knows there is a possibility for more he eats I should say swallows everything with in minutes. I normally try to put more on his plate for the first serving and yesterday I did. I had all of their plates handed to them at 12:18 he was done by 12:21 because I was fixing my plate and he came up behind me and asked for more. So we had the whole talk about eating slower once again. I think yesterday was the fastest though. I know his mom feeds him at home and I don't think he misses a meal. He will start telling me if it 12 and I hadn't started lunch or if lunch isn't done yesterday. (Hints why I knew the times yesterday) Anyway it wasn't the type of behavior I expected from him.

Shawn will be sleeping most of today. He got called out at 11 to do a transport. He came in at 4 and was in a bad mood. I tried to stay awake and listen to him vent but I only remember the first couple of things he said. He has had to deal with this female a lot the past couple weeks. The last transport he did was with her also. He came in and said she never shut up on the way down and that time she ended up coming back and she didn't shut up on the way back. And lets just say she wasn't saying the nicest of things. In fact I was mortified and asked to hear no more. Last week Shawn was on duty when he had to deal with her so they had a female officer help with the transport. From what I heard it was worse. I just don't understand it and I probably never will!

Sometime next week we are taking a trip to Canyon to go get my books for school. I am hoping that for one day I will just have 2 kids, but right now it looks like I will have at least 4 every day. But I can't complain to much because my books are already boxed, I just have to go pick them up and get a new parking permit.

Speaking of school here are my class times....

Monday
10:00AM-11:50AM
04:00PM-05:15PM
06:00PM-08:40PM

Wednesday
10:00AM-11:50AM
04:00PM-05:15PM

Thursday
02:30PM-05:25PM

For some reason I didn't realize I had that big of gap between classes on MW but I am sure I will have plenty to do in between after the first couple of weeks. Thursday's class is only offered in the fall and that is the only class time :( . Anyway I am ready to start just to have another semester behind me.

Anyway 2 kids just showed up so I better go and start the day.

By the way, Shawn and I finished off the water balloons last night and guess who won? Me! He was soaked! That will probably be the only time I win, but one time is better than none!

New Links and a couple of prayer requests

I have a couple new links in the side bar.

The first one Life with Hannah and Lily is a blog that I received a prayer request on back in July. Her daughter "Fancy Hannah" had a drowning accident. Her mom (Rach) updates regularly on how she and her family are doing. I will warn you though you will need a box of Kleenex when you go read! I never leave with dry eyes!

The second one From Dates to Diapers and Beyond is a blog that lists different give aways. The dates on the posts are the dates the contests end.

The first prayer request is for Bob (my SIL's best friends uncle) had what they thought was a spider bite but it turns out to be Necrotizing Fasciitis (which is a flesh eating bacteria). It has already shut down his kidneys, but they believe they caught it early enough to get him started on dialysis if his blood pressure goes back up. They hope to be able to keep it from spreading any where else.

The second one is for Shawn. He had another first at work last night. Pray for peace for him. I am not and cant go in to details. And I am asking that you do not call, email, or ask what happened. He will let you know when he is ready and most likely he won't say anything about it because it is all part of his job.

I hope everyone is having a great week! I am doing water week with the kids. Yesterday we played with water balloons. Today it is with water guns!

Well....

I started the book Saturday night/ Sunday morning when I should have been going to bed but I stayed up and read the whole thing. I finished a little after 4. I loved it! I can't wait for the next one to the series. It comes out in December!

Quick Update before bed

This is the first time in weeks well months maybe even this whole year that Shawn had less than 10 hours of over time the past two weeks! It has been nice, very nice! lol

Thanks to a friend of ours we found one of the puppies a home. Now we have 3 left. One yellow male (which I think we found some one to take) and then the two black ones left.
Yesterday after the kids left we headed to Atown to a friend's house too meet the person that would be taking the puppy. After the puppy left we had pizza and visited for a few hours. It was nice.

Today has been a rather lazy day. This morning I woke up with a horrible headache so I was up long enough to get dressed to go feed and let the dogs out (we are dog sitting). As soon as we got home I went back to bed. I slept from 9 to 1 something. When I got up Shawn was crashed on the couch. We did get all of the laundry done and that is about it. I watched the movie Must Love Dogs. I don't know why but it never appealed to me but today it was the only thing on that looked some what good, but it turns out I liked it.

I got a new book tonight at walmart. I haven't bought or read a book in a while. I got Cassidy by Lori Wick. She is one of my favorite authors. I will let you know my thoughts on it when its over. Also Shawn and I finished up on our couples devotional book, so we are looking for a new one. Any names of books or ideas? Can you believe in September it will be 3 years?!

Its after midnight so I need to get in bed but first I want to share a quote and its meaning I came across today! Its so very true!

If you met yourself, would you want to stick around and talk? Are you the kind of person you’d like to spend a lot of time with? Hopefully you are, because that’s who will be with you for your entire life. Your Values & Beliefs are a pretty good picture of what you want to see in the mirror. To be proud of yourself, do everything you can to make real life look like that vision. Find people that have the qualities you want and learn from them. Becoming a person you like gives you the confidence that you’re someone worth being friends with. At the same time, there’s a flip side to the friendship coin. You also need to cut yourself as much slack as you do your friends. You have friends because you see the good in them, not the flaws. You like them the way they are, warts and all. You enjoy their company and root for them to be happy and do their best. Look at yourself the same way. To be a good friend to yourself, accept your blemishes, while still pushing yourself to reach your full potential. Don’t harp on your weaknesses. Take another look in the mirror and be kinder this time.

Cheers for Friday!! (updated)

I'm ready for the weekend with out any kids! The two boys I watch have been horrible this week. I don't know how many times I have told them to keep their hands and feet off of each other. This morning I got out of the shower to find them jumping on the bed. I was sooo mad! Especially after already telling them to stay off the bed because they were wrestling on it and that was maybe 30 minutes before I got in the shower! So I told the older one who is 9 to go sit at the kitchen table and the younger one to sit on the couch in the front room. When I go tell them they can get out of time out I discover that the 9 year old drew all over my table with a purple crayon. So he spent the time before lunch washing my table, chairs, and a few kitchen walls. I thought maybe it would get better after lunch but so far it hasn't. I am praying she picks them up no later than 6! This whole week except for Wed. has been after 6:15 on night it was 10 till 7. The baby I watch is teething and hadn't slept all day when she was brought to me an hour ago. Lucky for me she didn't fight it and went to sleep. Her older sister also hadn't had a nap and her dad told me to have her take one so she is now sleeping also. Well I guess I better get off here and go find something entertaining for them to do from now until the time they go home!

Update: I can't believe it! It is 5:36 and they are all gone! So the boys' mom got here early today and I talked to her about their behavior. So she stands there and scolds them in front of me. Right as she is finishing, Shawn comes outside and asks where his boots are because I had polished them for him earlier today. The six year old tells his mom that he wants to become a cop and his wife is going to clean his boots and wash his cop car. His mom looks at me and said I could never do your job. I said," what? Watch kids?" and she said, "No, be married to a control freak and have to do his stuff for him. I said Shawn isn't a control freak, I noticed his boot were looking a little rough so I thought I would be nice and do it for him and washing his car allows us to spend time together and it gets it done faster. She said oh (very rudely). I can't believe she called Shawn a control freak. He is one of the most laid back people I know. Anyway Hooray for the weekend! Even though I don't have a whole lot going on with Shawn working it still means lots and lots of quite time! :)

Another call out! Another day/night with only seeing him awake for about 2 hours. He had training from 12-5 came home, went back to sleep until 8 got up ate dinner, we started to watch The Closer, the phone rang, and out the door he went. Hmmm maybe one day they won't be so short handed. I guess I can't complain too much he did just get a full 3 day weekend. Anyway, I am off to bed! Hope you like the new look!
