Here are some pictures of the kitchen cabinets. They look different because of the sunlight, it was the only light on the cabinets when I took the ones over the sink, the other two were from the kitchen light.

So I wasn't for sure what to put for the title so I decided not to put one. This last weekend, wasn't to busy. The only busy thing was painting the cabinets white. The kitchen looks so much better than what it did before. Makes it look a little bit bigger and it goes great with my kitchen table. Maybe I can get some pictures posted on here later. I need to go buy batteries for the camera. Yesterday, I went to curves and found out that I have lost some pounds and inches around my waist, always good :)! But I have gained inches around my thighs, but the lady thinks it could be because of a machine, so I am not to press my self hard on that machine. Which is why jean shopping is so hard for me. Because my thighs are causing me to go up a paint size, but yet my pants dont fit at the waist and ugh. I did find a pair that I liked on Sunday though and they were on sale which is always super nice. This morning before it gets to hot out side I think I am going to bake some cookies. I don't know why, all of the sudden I am in a baking mood. Saturday night I watched Alisha and Justins' two boys, and lil Justin and I made 4 8in cakes. He actually did an awesome job helping me. Josh started crying while I was using the mixer and instead of turning it off I just told justin to make sure that it didn't come out of the bowl and he did. I kind of expected to walk back in the kitchen and see a little bit of strawberry batter some where, but nope I did not. So when we mixed the next cake, he did the mixing. He was so proud of his cake and he kept calling it his birthday cake. He helped frost the two strawberry cakes and then he added the sprinkles. When Alisha and Justin came to pick them up he kept going look at my made birthday cake. It was cute.
Today, my Aunt Peggy and Grandma Mary are coming into to town. I am very excited. Since mom is working tomorrow, I get to spend the whole day with them. Then we are all going to go work out at curves together. I think everyone else is arriving some time on Thursday. The last couple of times some of them have came in to town, was for me. Like graduation and the wedding, so I was busy with those things, so I am really looking forward to sitting down and visiting with all of them. I hope Shawn doesn't have to work late on Friday. The last couple of Friday's it seems like he doesn't get off until after 6, a couple of Friday's he didn't get home until after 9. He likes the overtime, and I so do I, but hopefully not this Friday. O well if he does, it's not like I am going to call and talk to his boss about it.
Well thats it for now, I think I am going to go start those cookies.

Decided to take a break...

I am working through out the house today. I almost finished cleaning up the back room. All I need to do now is vacuum. It was getting way to cluttered and messy in here. I think it was because I had some laundry sorted around along with my school stuff from this last semsester. I hadn't decided where I wanted it to go. So I took one of these quiz things again. I wish all dogs stayed as cute as they are when they are puppies. Mickey and Minnie are doing better today. No helping the neighbor's dogs come in to our yard. Well nothing more to say....

So I was outside painting and....

this old junky car pulls up into the drive way. I am on the phone talking to Autumn and trying to paint, this guy then starts to ask me for my name as if he is interested in me. I told him to please leave and he goes all I want to know is your name. I was walking towards the door and he goes are you married and I said yes, he goes is your husband home, I lied and said yes, and he goes well who drives the white truck that parks in your drive way? I just was like none of your business, I am calling the cops if you do not leave. He then called me a few obsence words and kept saying that I know I want him. He finally drove off. So now about 30 minutes later, I am locked inside my house and I am starting to feel safe again. Guys like that just give me the creeps. I know you are not suppose to judge by looks, but he had half of his teeth missing, afro hair that looked like it need to be combed and his car looked like a piece of crap. I tried really hard not to look like I was scared or anything, but the truth is, I was totally freaked out. I called Shawn very upset, but he was in the middle of something and called me right back. But anyway, I took another quiz thing,

A good day

Today was a pretty good day. My stomach is still kind of upset from yesterday, but all in all it was a good day. I got most of the laundry done. I am just waiting for the towels in the dryer to get done. There really isnt much else to say. Mickey is sleeping outside with Minnie now. So far it is going pretty well. There have been a few times Shawn or I have had to go out and seperate Minnie and Mickey, just because we get tired of hearing Mickey cry out, but we are for the most part letting them figure out, I mean what else can we do? Well the dryer just buzzed. Good night all!

Thunderstorms finally

So I have been waiting all spring for thunderstorms to come our way. Finally it happened tonight, go figure it happened during my sister's program. When we went in to watch her, it had just started hailing, and when we came out the sun was shining. We have had severe weather all around us the past couple of days. I think there were a few tornadoes that have touched down around Lubbock and other parts of the Texas panhandle this afternoon on in to tonight. You know what I just realized though, there was no loud thunder! That is what I really love about thunderstorms and the lightning shows.
Anyway, today has been a so so day. One of my friends is going through a really tough time in her marriage. I really couldn't imagine going through everything she is going through. I am not going to get in to the details about it, but if you could just pray for her and pray that her husband finds his brains and I am going to stop right there, before I get myself in to trouble. It is just a horrible crazy-azy. Like I said before I couldn't imagine and I think she is taking things a lot better than I would. But at the same time, I probably will not know unless I was in that situation, and I pray to God, I never am. I know this may sound stupid, but I did learn something well I already knew it but it just reassured it I guess, I am blessed to have married such a wonderful man, we may have our differences sometimes, but who doesn't you know? No two people are ever alike, and sometimes that can be the fun of it all. If that makes any kind of since at all. So then I spent part of the afternoon at her house helping her pack up some things and talking to her and just being there and doing what I could. I know sometimes, that just having some one there makes all the difference, so hopefully I helped a little bit. Then I came home around 6ish and in the mail I received a wedding invitation from a friend that worked in the same department as me when I first started AIG. I am excited that she is finally getting married. They have been together for a while, infact I didn't realize she wasn't married until a few months before I stopped working at AIG. I hope and pray that everything continues to work out for them and every other married couple.
I really do not know much about divorce. I mean I hear about it and I see the damage it does to every person involved. But I am lucky to say that I do not have first hand experience with it. I hopefully never will. I always thought it was weird, because at school or work I was always one of the few whose parents are still together and still going strong. I couldn't imagine my life with my parents being separated and I thankful I did not have to experience that. Part of me thinks the reason the divorce rates are so high now is because society wants the easy way out of things. I understand some reasoning like infidelity and abusive relationships and a few others, but because it gets to hard, I don't understand that. I think that married couples should say there vows to each other like every couple of months or at least once a year. That may sound stupid, but at the same time it is reminder of what you vowed. Well any way, I should get off my soap box. My head is killing me, I am exhausted, and I am having a hard time organizing my thoughts and you can probably tell that. Sorry if this is confusing to read.

Good Night All

Mickey taking one of his many daily naps.  Posted by Hello

So what do you think?

As you can tell I changed templates. I actually changed to another one of blogger's templates then I went and changed the back ground colors and fonts. So TA DA, this is what I came up with. I like it. I also added a site meter thing just because. I added a guest book a while back, but when I checked it today, no one has signed it. LoL O well. So what do you think of my new virtual pets? If you click on them they will do the following: pete the penguin will eventually fall off of his ice block and in to the water, daisy the duck will quack, she will also roll her head all sorts of directions depending on which way you circle the mouse, and then harry the hamster will follow the direction of the mouse, and if you click on the wheel, he will jump on and go forever. I haven't decided if I wanted to add any more or not. Maybe later.
Mickey is getting even more chunky. Yesterday afternoon, he played out in the front yard while, I tried or attempted to put this flower garden trim stuff around my daisies, as you can tell, I am not exactly a gardner. :) But I am learning or trying to at least. Anyway, I am not finished with that, then Shawn came home and we mowed the front yard well what is left of it. See a couple of weeks ago we used a weed killer spray and we didn't realize how much of the front yard was weeds, well we noticed yesterday that over half of the yard was dead. So we mowed and then we raked off all of the weed stuff and put down grass seed and watered. Mickey played with two of the neighboor kids while Shawn and I worked on the yard. When we came in around 8:30 lastnight Mickey was exhausted, he laid down and was out until around 6:30 this morning. Then he started whinning. Shawn was trying to find his shoes so he could take him out, but Shawn took too long, and I didn't realize Shawn had put Mickey on the bed. So where did Mickey go to the bathroom? That is right, on the bed. That was not very fun.
Mickey is also getting tougher. He goes outside and plays with Minnie, but you can tell when he is ready to come in. He just starts whinning like crazy. I think he just gets tired of Minnie messing with him. I don't know if Minnie realizes that she has a stronger bite than Mickey. Today, I looked out the window and she had Mickey by his tail, he was hanging upside down whinning like crazy. It was kind of funny, but I don't think Mickey liked it very much. After that I brought him inside, and he is as usual a sleep. His favorite place to sleep is in a laundry basket, with this old sheet, a flannel blanket, and a travel pillow that is under the sheet. If he starts to out grow that, then it is to sleeping out side, I bet he will be outside before then. Well I have some things I wanted to get done this afternoon. I have a jewelry party to go to at Alisha's house. I am going as a friend, because I can not stand the lady that is doing her jewelry party. She did one for me, and it turned out great and all, but if I ever do another one, she will not be the one doing it. Any way, I think we are suppose to get near 90 today or something like that. I'm lovin it.

Interesting things about Shawn and I

I went to this web site, typed in my name, and this is what it came up with. I don't know about being artistic though. I never thought of myself as artsy. So what do you think?

NaTasha

N is for Neat

A is for Active

T is for Tender

A is for Active

S is for Sensual

H is for Heavenly

A is for Artistic

I also decided to do Shawn's Name

SHAWN

S is for Spectacular

H is for Hardworking

A is for Articulate

W is for Wild

N is for Normal

Then I typed in my Birthday and this is what it said, I don't know if this is good or bad. Some of it describes me, the other part I am pondering whether I am like that or not....

Your Birthdate: January 20

Your birth on the 20th day of the month adds a degree of emotion, sensitivity, and intuition to your reading. The 2 energy provided here is very social, allowing you to make friends easily and quickly. Yet you are apt to have a rather nervous air in the company of a large group. You have a warmhearted nature and emotional understanding that constantly seeks affection. You are very prone to become depressed and moody, as emotions can turn inward and cause anxiety and mental turmoil. It can be hard for you to bounce back to reality when depression sets in. When things are going well, you can go just as far the other way and become extremely affectionate.

I also did Shawn's birthday, I don't know about the drama part lol. I will tell him when he comes home for lunch that he is drama, drama, drama and see how he acts....

Your Birthdate: November 18

Your birthday on the 18th day of the month suggests than you are one who can work well with a group, but still remain someone who needs to maintain individual identity. There is a humanistic or philanthropic approach to business circumstances in which you find yourself. You may have good executive abilities, as you are very much the organizer and administrator. You are broad-minded, tolerant and generous; a compassionate person that can inspire others with imaginative ideas. Some of your feelings may be expressed, but even more of them are apt to be repressed. There is a lot of drama in your personality and in the way you express yourself to others. Oddly enough, you don't expect as much in return as you give.

Then I took this test to see just how normal I am. I take it the results were good, but how can you tell if a person is actually normal, since there is not a set normal guide? I think that normal is what is in the norm and if the norm is changing constantly then how can you be tested on how normal you really are. Okay I will stop now, I can't believe I actually learned something in sociology. lol So my results are.....

You Are 60% Normal(Really Normal)
Otherwise known as the normal amount of normalYou're like most people most of the timeBut you've got those quirks that make you endearingYou're unique, yes... but not frighteningly so!

SO THATS ALL FOLKS....... well for now

Meet Mickey, our newest 5 week old yellow lab. Isn't he a cutie. All he pretty much does is sleep. He has been sleeping since we got home from my parents house tonight. I woke him up to take a picture with Shawn and then I placed him back down and he is out once again. Minnie doesn't know what to think of him yet.  Posted by Hello

Meet Minnie! Our 6 month old lab. She wouldn't exactly sit still for a picture, so Shawn picked her up for it. I think she loves it when Shawn picks her up and carries her. I don't know why, but she seems to.  Posted by Hello

I only spook when spooken to

Sooo hmmm ya uhhh???

So nothing really exciting or extra ordinary has been going on in my life. I am done with my finals and with this semester of school. The past few weeks have been busy with studying physics, so now that I have some what free time I am kind of sort of bored. I know that I can clean, do laundry, and other household chores, but what fun is that? I think I am just in the blah mood, because it is May and the weather is all yucky. In case you haven't heard we got snow Sunday night on in to Monday. Rocky is doing much better. The vet thinks he is gaining his eye sight back in his right eye. I can't believe the major turn around he has done. I just keep thanking and praising God for his recovery.
I got this in an email and some of you may have read or seen it, but it I think it is very true and important to remember. Hope you enjoy....

How You Make Them Feel
Twenty years ago, I drove a cab for a living. It was a cowboy's life, a life for someone who wanted no boss. What I didn't realize was that it was also a ministry.
Because I drove the night shift, my cab became a moving confessional. Passengers climbed in, sat behind me in total anonymity, and told me about their lives. I encountered people whose lives amazed me, made me laugh and made me weep.

But none touched me more than a woman I picked up late one August night.I was responding to a call from a small brick fourplex in a quiet part of town. I assumed I was being sent to pick up some partiers, or someone who had just had a fight with a lover, or a worker heading to an early shift at some factory in the industrial part of town. When I arrived at 2:30 a.m., the building was dark except for a single light in a ground floor window. Under these circumstances, many drivers would just honk once or twice, wait a minute, then drive away. But I had seen too many impoverished people who depended on taxis as their only means of transportation. Unless a situation smelled of danger, I always went to the door. This passenger might be someone who needs my assistance, I reasoned to myself.

So I walked to the door and knocked. "Just a minute", answered a frail, elderly voice. I could hear something being dragged across the floor. After a long pause, the door opened. A small woman in her 80s stood before me. She was wearing a print dress and a pillbox hat with a veil pinned on it, like somebody out of a 1940s movie.By her side was a small nylon suitcase. The apartment looked as if no one had lived in it for years. All the furniture was covered with sheets. There were no clocks on the walls, no knickknacks or utensils on the counters. In the corner was a cardboard box filled with photos and glassware."Would you carry my bag out to the car?" she said. I took the suitcase to the cab, then returned to assist the woman.

She took my arm and we walked slowly toward the curb. She kept thanking me for my kindness."It's nothing", I told her. "I just try to treat my passengers the way I would want my mother treated"."Oh, you're such a good boy", she said. When we got in the cab, she gave me the address, then asked, "Could you drive through downtown?"
"It's not the shortest way," I answered quickly."Oh, I don't mind," she said. "I'm in no hurry. I'm on my way to a hospice".I looked in the rearview mirror. Her eyes were glistening. "I don't have any family left," she continued. "The doctor says I don't have very long." I quietly reached over and shut off the meter. "What route would you like me to take?" I asked.

For the next two hours, we drove through the city. She showed me the building where she had once worked as an elevator operator. We drove through the neighborhood where she and her husband had lived when they werenewlyweds. She had me pull up in front of a furniture warehouse that had once been a ballroom where she had gone dancing as a girl. Sometimes she'd ask me to slow in front of a particular building or corner and would sitstaring into the darkness, saying nothing.
As the first hint of sun was creasing the horizon, she suddenly said, "I'm tired.Let's go now."We drove in silence to the address she had given me. It was a low building, like a small convalescent home, with a driveway that passed under a portico. Two orderlies came out to the cab as soon as we pulled up. They were solicitous and intent, watching her every move. They must have been expecting her.I opened the trunk and took the small suitcase to the door. The woman was already seated in a wheelchair."How much do I owe you?" she asked, reaching into her purse."Nothing," I said."You have to make a living," she answered.
"There are other passengers," I responded.Almost without thinking, I bent and gave her a hug. She held onto me tightly. "You gave an old woman a little moment of joy," she said. "Thank you."I squeezed her hand, then walked into the dim morning light. Behind me, a door shut. It was the sound of the closing of a life.
I didn't pick up any more passengers that shift. I drove aimlessly, lost in thought. For the rest of that day, I could hardly talk. What if that woman had gotten an angry driver, or one who was impatient to end his shift? What if I had refused to take the run, or had honked once, then driven away?On a quick review, I don't think that I have done anything more important in my life. We're conditioned to think that our lives revolve around great moments. But great moments often catch us unaware--beautifully wrapped in what others may consider a small one.

PEOPLE MAY NOT REMEMBER EXACTLY WHAT YOU DID, OR WHAT YOU SAID,…. BUT THEY WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HOW YOU MADE THEM FEEL
