Keeping it real

Life has really changed around here since the last time I posted. Bently is growing like a weed and will be 15 months old in 10 days! She is a very sweet and active toddler!

2 months ago yesterday, Shawn was terminated. I can't go into details, but he is in the process of appealing it. So we wait and wait and wait some more. He has been and continues to look for a job (right now he can't apply in law enforcement). Yesterday one of the places he applied called for him to come and take a drug test today. He got the job and starts tomorrow. I have been praying non stop that he would find something anything and I was so relieved and excited for him when he told me he starts tomorrow...... then he told me the hourly wage. I was shocked it is barely above minimum wage. I kept it together, but as soon as I was by myself I lost it. For the first time during this whole thing I truely lost it, I just started crying uncontrollably, and questioning every bit of it. Then I felt ashamed I asked God to give him something I mean anything and He did! The Lord provided....shouldn't be a shocker right? And instead of being grateful and praising him I was angry. I just kept thinking he just finished with his bachelors degree in May and that is all he gets? He is worth so much more than that with experience alone. I was also questioning how we are going to make it...but I know the answer to all of it....The Lord will provide....we/I just need to continue on His path and lean on Him and not on our own understanding.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride. (Eccles. 7:8)

The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. (Psalm 18:2)

I am going to try and do an update soon with pictures. It is hard to sit down on the computer with Bently running around and of course she wants to help by typing on the keyboard. :)

I know we don't know each other, but I came across your blog from B. Foshe's blog. And I just wanted to share that GOD KNOWS HIS PLANS FOR YOU ALL! I was touched by your post. A few years ago I had the same prayer for my husband to find ANYTHING for a job..and he did. For a couple of years we lived very tight. But God ALWAYS provided our needs and most of our wants. Now, my husband is no longer at that job and is at a "better" job. But, I promise, one day you will look back and see how God provided for you during this time. He always knows what is ahead. Blessings to you and your family!
